Emma Philbin Bowman has written an extraordinarily perceptive essay on the theme of "how to live with grace and beauty, amid our many failures and disappointments" as set forth in Leonard Cohen's "Heart With No Companion." The discussion is marked by the author's unflinching willingness to explore, expose, and explain the unattenuated impact of Cohen's lyrics on herself and extrapolate the results into generalizable, useful insights. It may well be the best analysis of "Heart With No Companion" I've ever read, and I urge you not to miss it.
