Post by Cia » Wed May 12, 2004 9:31 pm

I am going to see this guy at a concert in Copenhagen on the 28. th of may. My son has recommanded him, he thinks it's pure Cohen. Try this link and listen to some of his music. http://www.joshritter.com/v2/news.php

Enjoy :D

Yes, he's very good. I saw him in January when he was the supporting act for/and protege of Joan Baez. He sings mostly his own material solo with just an accoustic guitar.

It looks like you did Paula :( She was here for months and appeared on a few folk music TV programs too. Try her website for any future tours. She must have a website!

I think it may have been BBC2 or Channel 4 for one program and another might have been BBC 4(which you can get free once you've bought a digital box)

Cia, he really is very good and has a beautiful song call Wings which Joan Baez covers on her new album 'Dark Chords On A Big Guitar. I would say that he is unique as Leonard Cohen is but would not make any other comparisons. When it comes to musical poetry he can't be matched.

I saw Josh Ritter in Berlin this year doing support for Damien Rice. He was a cute guy beeing really funny, no wonder as he has such great curley hairs. I loved his performance a lot more than Rice. I didn't hear anything that resembles Leonards music, he is on his own track and that's for good.

Josh Ritter was cool 8) and he played a nice version of "Chelsea Hotel". But true enough, this guy is not lenny and never will be, and it certainly isn't his intension to be either.
