'Hallelujah' revisited
'Hallelujah' revisited
Released this week on the Warner label is an official album by Jørn Hoel called 'Jørn Hoels heteste' - and it contains his much praised cover version of Leonard's 'Hallelujah'. He sang it live this morning on Norwegian's TV2 - a programme called 'God Morgen, Norge!' - and it was repeated an hour or two later. This song is rapidly becoming one of the most covered songs since McCartney's 'Yesterday'. Leonard, people are constantly making money on this song - you must make sure your management gets royalties. Jarkko, can you add this to your list of covers, please? The show 'God Morgen, Norge!' can actually be seen online, but it's such a headache for people abroad to set it up. Goodbye, everybody.

Unbelievable. This guy's got friends in high places. It's half-past seven in the evening here and he's just been on TV again - singing 'Hallelujah'. This time it was a programme called 'Fredag' (TV2). The show is repeated again this coming Monday - so that's four TV airings in four days!! On the 'God Morgen, Norge!' show Mr Hoel only sang a couple of verses - but on tonight's 'Fredag' show he sang it right the way through. He's going to sell a lot of copies of his new album. Once again, Leonard - send him the bill!!!!

I don't think you better listen to it lizzy.A Norwegian paper says Jørn Hoel
ruins the song "Hallelujah"on his new cd.

Well, if that's the case, from where I sit he wouldn't be the first, and won't be the last. I still like to hear for myself to see how I feel about it. I'm hoping your link has more than just the review, i.e. a link for listening... we'll see
.
Well, I clicked on everything that seemed reasonable, but notta! I see that "Tjin Lizzy!" is there, though
. Is that as in our "Tin Lizzy"?

Well, that was a little cruel. In some other reviews he receives a very positive critique. He doesn't 'ruin' it, but sings it a lot higher, almost falsetto, than what we are used to hearing.

Well, I didn't pay anything. Just clicked and the whole two-hour show started rolling. Hoel comes on at the 36th minute into the show.

Nor I.

You can actually manage that? Setting video player time-controls is like rocket science to me! I have to put in a 4-hour tape and just let it run.
>(nå bør vi vel ikke skrive så mye norsk her)
You are right. The management here is very strict.

They put the manual in the box because they get perverse satisfaction from anticipating the frustration its impossible complexities will burdon onto the unsuspecting purchaser.

Take a look at this URL - it's just one of many. Making a video-player start and stop when you are away from home needs more than an instruction manual - it requires a miracle.

Geoffrey, Geoffrey you must not be so negative.Do you think big
companys like Sony,Philips,Yamaha or Grundig,Grundig?ok, i agree with
you with them they do it.Once i was trying to set up a Grundig tv and what
came out of my mouth led to a knock on the door.A man with two horns
groing out of his head came in and said:Here i a'm,you called.I asked him
to help me to set up the Grundig tv.The man that was red in the face almost like fire went pale as white snow. No, no he screamed, not a Grundig and ran out and downstairs again.
So you know,i do think people have trouble with some makes.
