Hebrew tribute album

Post by Rob »

A generous forum member sent me a copy of the wonderful leonard tribute CD in Hebrew. It is an amazingly passionate interpretation of his songs. Does anyone have the track list in Hebrew and the name of the band/musicians?

It could be Ofer Golany, aka Guns2Guitars? But he performed only 4 songs + more others on CD.

Thanks for that Tom. the disc I'm refering to is the one that was posted as a birthday tribute, and had to be withdrawn two hours later for copyright reasons.

Oh oh oh - never heard of! Do you know who released it? There's no much another Hebrew covers listed on The Files - was this privately made CD (home release)? I'd like the copy also...

It was never intended to be sold, just a 70th birthday present to Leonard. As good as done Tom.

I tottaly missed that. The link to the original topic is here, with the tracklist, but without artists names: viewtopic.php?t=2894&start=0

That Sony is really unbelievable. But that depends on local Sony, I believe - if the boys were Croatian, our representative would give premission gladly (they're nice people & very young company).

Lucky we that someone did succeed in downloading the album.

A new compilation by 18 Israeli artists and produced by alt.country artist David Peretz entitled שיר זר (Shir Zarah), or Stranger Song, pays tribute to Leonard Cohen on the occasion of his 70th birthday by interpreting a number of his classic works in Hebrew. Featuring such artists as Billy Levy, Gabriel Belhassan, Morphlexis, Razi Ben-Ezer, and Sagol 59, the one-of-a-kind album is available exclusively for download from Israel's leading indie music website, Hasharat Ha'Iver, or The Blind Janitor
It seems that the album is still available in mp3 zip file or via torrent download (link) Don't tell anybody cause they did it free and as a gift:-)

Hello friends, I have all of these songs in MP3 format. I found them on Soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/hanan-cohen-2 Managed to obtain them a while ago but I have since been in and out of hospital a few times and I cannot for the life of me recall where or how I obtained them. I am willing to share but do not know how?...

I'm doing some research into the various tribute albums, and need some help with this 2004 release please, if anyone can assist ... I understand that one of the songs is sung in Arabic ?? or that one of the singers is maybe Arabic ?? cos all the other artists are Israeli / Hebrew ... can anyone identify which one ? Thanks in advance for any help. JD
