The venue for the second Melbourne show has been changed to the Palais Theatre.
Good news, as long as the ticket changeover works properly.
Just received this from Ticketek.

Dear Leonard Cohen ticket holder,
The Leonard Cohen concert scheduled for Monday 9 December 2013 at Rod Laver Arena will now take place at the Palais Theatre.

As the Palais Theatre is a Ticketmaster venue and Rod Laver Arena is a Ticketek venue, all tickets must be relocated in advance of the show.

Tickets have been held to satisfy the ticket holders for the original venue and will remain on hold until the relocate period has ended.

Replacement tickets will be allocated in the same order tickets were booked for the Rod Laver Arena show, i.e. the earlier tickets were booked, the better seats will be allocated at The Palais Theatre.

After re-allocations have been completed, Ticketmaster will automatically email the new tickets to the original customers by FRIDAY NOVEMBER 8th 2013

Any queries regarding the Leonard Cohen ticket exchange, please contact Ticketmaster on PH 136 100 after FRIDAY NOVEMBER 8th 2013.

Frontier Touring apologise for any inconvenience caused, but believe you will experience a great night of entertainment at the Palais Theatre.
Please be aware that the other Melbourne show for Leonard Cohen on Wednesday 20 November 2013 will remain as scheduled, at Rod Laver Arena.
Enjoy the show!

Shame I booked my seats for the first Melbourne concert...I would much prefer the Palais, have seen some good shows there and love just catching the 96 tram to get there.

It's Leonard Cohen at the Palais, could anything be more tempting? ;-)

I think very little... in Cohen concert terms :!:

In fact, despite my Rod Laver Arena ticket, I will definitely try on Monday for one here, as all the LC concerts I've been to have been in large venues and this may now be the only opportunity to see him in a smaller more intimate venue, which is also an historic building that is aesthetically pleasing (art deco). 8)

Cheers,
Andrew :)

So pleased for you Murray and Andrew :D

....... and possibly blonde madonna too - that is if you can't resist the Palais Theatre temptation ;-)

Some of my words from the Sydney second concert thread:
B4real wrote:If I could have seen into the future I would not have booked for the first concerts in Sydney and Melbourne; I much prefer the Opera House and the Palais Theatre venues (I used to live just around the corner to the latter many years ago).
It should be a truly wonderful night there!

Is there any word about a second show in Auckland yet? Maybe on Dec 20th? it's my poor son's birthday that day and he can't plan his party because he knows Leonard must come first!

Yep, Lenny and the band are now in the most isolated city in the world - Perth! In Oz, people from Sydney and Melbourne call it "That place across the desert," a local term for the Nullarbor Plain, similar to how Aussies and Kiwis talk about each country as being "Across the ditch," meaning the Tasman Sea.

Here's a couple of links from Leif (Writing Man, Here My Words)

Perth

Btw ... did you know that Leonard’s birth date 21st Sept 1934 numerologically adds up as follows:
21+09+19+34 = 83 ... 8+3 = 11 ... 1+1 = ...2... days from today to go before the first concert in Australia ;-)
