On the setlist, Leif reports:
There are no big surprises tonight; the only deviation from the setlist is the omission of the poem A Thousand Kisses Deep. During the second set, instead of Different Sides, La Manic is played between Suzanne and Miracle.

Marie's post is correct. Different Sides was not played. The omission of Thousand Kisses was probably a last-minute decision, as I saw Leonard turn towards Roscoe and emphatically say, "No poem."

As for La Manic, I agree that its 'sound' deviates from the rest of the setlist (for that matter, so does Save the Last Dance), yet the song obviously has a big emotional impact on many French-speaking members of the audience. In Moncton, the francophone man sitting beside me, who had been listening to the concert very intently, felt compelled to use his camera for the first time during the show when La Manic was being played. In Montreal, I thought the crowd was going to lift the roof off the Bell Centre when Leonard began to sing this song. (It is a love song that seems to fit comfortably into the sensibility of Leonard's own work, and if memory serves, he introduced the song by saying something to the effect that he had struggled unsuccessfully for a long time to develop his own translated version.) My Quebecoise mother-in-law had accompanied me to the first Montreal show (which did not include La Manic); when I told her about the debut of the song in the second show, she was disappointed to have not been there, but upon reflection decided (half-seriously) that this may have been just as well because she feared it may have generated a little too much emotion within her. Personally, I do like the song, and in Moncton I enjoyed hearing it even more now that I had a better understanding of its meaning and context.
