Leonard Cohen was in Aix en Provence, 2nd aug 1970.
This live performance appears in a film titled "Guitare au poing" ou "A Cause du Pop"
Has anyone got a copy of it ?
Thanks

One of the Dylan groups that I belong to has recently distributed a massive career spanning collection of Leonard's recordings and dvds.
This has been a labour of love from one of our Australian members who has spent years transferring all his LC concert tapes onto cd.
My main job in the group is to make artwork for all the concert recordings, mainly Dylan of course, that we distribute amongst ourselves.
After months of hard slog making artwork on the computer I have only just reached the year 1975 and looking back I see that I have the 1970 Aix-en-Provence show.
This is the radio broadcast and is missing the final song - Famous Blue Raincoat.
As a filler on this cd I have put the 2 songs (The Partisan and Regina) from the Joe Dessin TV Special of 13 May 1970.
I have a feeling that there are maybe other rare recordings amongst this massive collection.
I have already come across a dvd that Jarkko wasn't aware of.
2 August 1970 Unknown Venue, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Aix-en-Provence, France
1. Cohen introduction in French [1:44]
2. BIRD ON THE WIRE [4:11]
3. SO LONG, MARIANNE [2:31]
4. YOU KNOW WHO I AM [3:23]
5. LADY MIDNIGHT [3:13]
6. ONE OF US CANNOT BE WRONG [4:52]
7. THE STRANGER SONG [6:18]
8. FOR NO REASON AT ALL(?) (improvisation) [0:47]
9. JOAN OF ARC [6:10]
10. THE PARTISAN [4:13]
11. SISTERS OF MERCY [5:10]
12. DIAMONDS IN THE MINE [4:47]
13. TONIGHT WILL BE FINE [1:07]
RADIO recording (SOUNDBOARD).

Dear liverpoolken,
I will be in Liverpool next Wednesday to see the divine Emmylou Harris at The Liverpool Empire.
If you will be there as well, please bring along lots of Cohen live recordings for me!
Oh well, no harm in asking....!

Re: Aix en Provence 1970 - Guitare au Poing / A cause du Pop
Who wants to get a DVD copy of "Guitare au poing" documentary?
I received this from JJB:
I received this from JJB:
Google did not give many facts:We are trying to find and release the film "Guitare au poing" made during Aix en Provence festival in 1970, with among other acts, L. Cohen, and we are very near to it ...
My question is: is it possible to know how many people (Cohen's fans) could be interested in buying a DVD if it's officially released soon. Interested people should send their answer directly to me at jjbedrossian@airfrance.fr
JJB, are you aware of the copyright issues involved: you have to make a contract with the producers of the film, every artist and owners of the song rights (Sony owns Leonard's songs) etc. ??Guitare au poing (released in 1972 or 1973): Directed by Daniel Szuster. With Peter Brown, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Winter. Narrated by Jacques Higelin and Cuëtan Hercé. Filmed by Pierre-William Glenn.
