Hi to all! Sorry for not being able to respond earlier...

Should those of you that are coming from afar need some advice, do not hesitate to PM the undersigned or post message on this thread. Last time the underground was working after the concert, so I presume there won't be any problem to get to the center. I took a taxi last year from there to Caparica (some 15 km from Lisbon, on the other side of the Tagus delta) and it was only EUR 20!, so even if it was in the daytime, I guess within the city limits in the night it cannot be much more expensive...

I will try & ask jarkko to move this thread to the meetups topic. I hope you won't mind.
Cheers, magda

Hi to you Lisbonite's and others whose names I recognise in the post :D It was in 2008 that I came to Lisbon to see the Great Man Leonard and met some of you who are still obviously going to all his Lisboa Concerts. I cant get there this year, have the new CD and hope like anything that he comes down to New Zealand again (perhaps in 2013). I remember the outdoor concert in Alges in 2008, it was magic,
I hope you all have a great Time ;-)

Hi All --like newzealander, I was also at that wonderful 2008 concert in Lisbon. It was fun meeting in the pub before hand and trying to figure out who people were as they arrived. Also like newzealander --I am not going to be there this time--enjoy the great concert I know this is going to be.
Lucky for me he is returning to Edmonton in November.

Hi to Magda and all of you coming to Lisbon,

we (me and Peter) would love to join you in pre- or maybe also post- meet up.
Are there some concrete plans already?
We'll arrive in Lisbon on Oct. 6th in the afternoon, leaving Oct. 9th.
We still have to book some accomodation, any suggestions?
Our first time in Lisbon, we are looking forward to it (city, mr. Cohen and you friends).

Kind regards,
Jarmila

P.S. I still have two excellent spare tickets for the concert (see "find/sell/swap" section if interested)
SOLD!!!!

Let's hope our local friends wake up in time.
I've never been to Lisbon, so I am of no use.
If necessary maybe we can find some inspiration in the past meet-ups in Lisbon.

Any suggestions how to say thanks/good bye/au revoir to mr. Cohen and the band?
This is the last concert in 2012 in Europe after all.

I'm watching for the same thing, as I'll be printing off whatever I have soon [so much to do to get ready to leave!].
Maria and Mandy will likely know what's going on, but just in case, I wanted to cover our bases.
Thanks!

Bom-Dia

Although I live in Paris, Lisbon is the city where I was born and raised, so here is a suggestion, a very nice bar close to the venue......

http://www.petercafesport.com/?lang=EN

there are a lot of pubs restaurants and bars around Pavilhao Atlantico which is a nice area for a walk there is also a great gicantic aquarium and a big shopping mall.

For all of you coming to Lisboa, hoe you will enjoy our beautiful city!

Cheers

Luis

Hi Luis,
I like your suggestion! It looks nice and the location near the venue makes it easy. Our hotel is also in that area.

At what time shall we meet?

Thank you for taking the initiative,
kind regards,

Jarmila & Peter

He Luis,
the second look on your suggested cafe has brought me to Horta, Azor Islands....
Now I am not sure about anything...

What about this cafe?

The third look has revealed that the Peter's Cafe Sport in Lisboa, Rua da Pimenta 39
is a daughter company of the cafe with the same name on Azoren Islands.

Luis, I hope this is the right address.
Sorry if I made it complicated.

As Regina and me are staying in Estoril for the Lisbon concert, we probably won´t make it to the meetup.
Hope to see some of you at the concert.
Best, safe trips,
harald
