A limit of 250 set to the NY Event

Post by jarkko »

CIRCULAR TO ALL PARTICIPANTS
All registered participants have received a circular email with full accomodation information with links to the reservation center.
If you have paid your fee but did not get the email yesterday, please let me know! (Some addresses seem to be already outdated!

BOTTOM LINE - NEW LIMIT SET TO 250 PARTICIPANTS

As most of you probably already know, the Bottom Line, our choice for the Friday night opening event has been embroiled in a legal battle with their landlord NYU. At this point, while it is too soon to entirely write off the Bottom Line as a venue, we are beginning to explore alternatives. One of the benefits of the Bottom Line is its capacity which the committee feels is an important consideration. Most of the other venues that we are exploring do not have this capacity. As a result, the committee has decided to limit the attendance to 250 people. If you have friends who are considering registering, please urge them to do it soon. (We have now 185 registered participants)

A big YES on that :D , Michele Dina Lee. Just go to the link for the Event, from Jarkko's main page, and see the registration info. I believe it's at 187 right now. Go now, however, rather than risk being excluded. I'm certain you enjoyed Hydra 8) , but welcome back, nonetheless :D !

Dear jpx
we do have space for you - the max capacity of the whole event is 250,
and right now we are at 207. For the Friday night dinner at The
Knitting Factory we have 150 seats, and only 9 are free.
Of course we will put a notice on the NY pages if the event will be
sold out!

Only 7 spaces left for the V.I.P. Buffet, now  ! I hope you're going to be one of them, jpx 8) !

Is this a great quote or what, regarding the Chelsea Hotel. My roommate and I will be staying there one night, and just reading this heightens my anticipation:
"The building sits on 23rd Street with the air of a great dame who finds herself in the midst of a party of her social inferiors but instead of complaining decides to join right in the fun."

How I would love to be one of the few who remain.
You never know until it happens.
I will try my best: if I read "Mythologies and Oranges" at an open mic session, along with other published rubbish, then don't be surprised.
What's most important is the congregation of Cohenistas in N.Y. in June: have a wonderful time !
My thoughts and best wishes go to all those lucky fanatics.
Andrew.

Hi Andrew ~

Well, since the open mic [to my understanding] has to be Cohen-related, that means you won't need to worry about practicing as much material :D ~ why not just take the plunge and determine that it will happen? It's be great to see you there! Some feelings are obviously stirring about in you about going :D /not going :( ~ so, hey, take fate into your own, two hands 8) .

a limit of 250 set for N.Y Event

Post by Natalie »

Hi Lizzy,

I am looking forward to meeting you, too! I am getting really excited about the event -- I am beginning to have a hard time getting to sleep in anticipation of the trip.

Guess what? I came up with a title for my book, which is hopefully going to be out before the event.

It's called "Imagination Suite" and has a dedication to none other than . . .

drum roll

Leonard Cohen

See you soon,
Natalie
