U.S. Television Commercial

Postby alb123 » Sat Feb 04, 2012 5:55 am

So, I'm sitting here watching "CIA Secret Experiments" on NatGeo and what appears on my television? A 30 second commercial (I'm guessing, that's a standard commercial length) advertising Leonard Cohen's latest album, Old Ideas! I immediately thought "how cool is this?" It isn't very often that I see albums advertised on TV, unless it's a Best Of or big compilation of some sorts... I was very impressed. I hope this album sells well...

I just saw it too here in San Francisco on The History Channel. It first showed a clip from the last tour and of course I thought it was an add for a new tour! But as it progressed it turned out to be a commercial for Old Ideas which was pretty exciting too!

Oh wow! The History Channel too? That's awesome... What a letdown, thinking for a second...hoping that you were about to hear an announcement for a new world tour!!

Very cool!! No sightings for me...actually I'm hoping to see one during the Super Bowl. (Think Sony would spring for that??)

If anything, they will probably run the 3D-TV one... which would be thrilling to see too....

I was at work last week and someone came out running to get me yelling
"your 'guy' is on television! and said the commercial had just played in the 'break' room.
I missed it but was thrilled.
Must have been so amazing to see this out of the blue.
Great promotion and as my friend in London said
"Leonard is everywhere!"

So after reading the first post I spent two hours last night watching some guy who fixes old fridges and bikes on the History Channel - nothing!! I could have been listening to Old Ideas.
