She is in Ourense, waiting for the concert to begin!

Leonard Cohen, escala peregrina

Zen on stage, Leonard Cohen, dark suit and hat, picking off yesterday in Ourense songs that have made his voice and style in legend, beginning with Dancing to the end of love. Knee on the ground in much of his repertoire, started cheering with each of his classics, demonstrating their communion with the micro and accompanied by a female chorus of three voices and a group of musicians, who squandered his show intimate quality.

Ourense is the only concert of this tour that has occurred in Spain

And is that in a concert of this poet and novelist no place to strong emotions, except to miles to see it, without having to enter the hand (a problem suffered some who had purchased entry associates) as the capacity for 4,000 people was sold in advance. And so seats, a majority or even gray hair who was allowed to attend the concert with babies, without fear that a cry broke the cadence of the concert.

On the eve of his latest album sees the light after almost seven years and a few days of his seventy-sixth anniversary, meeting on the 21, Cohen went on a tour Ourense endless and so necessary to him as desired by stalwarts. It will be, yes, his only concert in Spain.

And surely among his supporters last night there were many identified the need to remake yet another setback after the embezzlement sentimental accompanied by personal economics.

It was an intimate show with a repertoire of legends

A novice might think that age has an impact on the Canadian musician, but actually gives the impression that he would not know it otherwise. His voice aged for personal experiences and scars the soul, deep and penetrating, sculpted with every low note the walls of the venue chosen for the occasion: a sports field that once lived successes glory of a CBA team, like yesterday welcomed the magic one of the living legends of contemporary music.

Ten to fifteen years are many successes and frustrations in and off the stage and perhaps a combination of musical and personal existentialism, which appeals courts under their thousands of fans around the world, identified with his poems to music. While at the concert last night, which was part of the Road Music Xacobeo, there was no place either for sorrow or for depression.

Here we had the privilege of hearing some of the compositions that will shape his next album, Songs from the road, stuffed full of constant eye to the past and influences supported by Cohen himself, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Van Morrison and Judy Collins. The audience stood up and at the end of the first part. And a comment was repeated: "Grandpa is great."

Goes on sale today their latest album, Songs from the road '

His immediate horizon ends in Las Vegas on December 11 after a pilgrimage from here takes you to France, Germany, Russia, Australia or New Zealand, among others. And if sarcasm and Ourense retranca were in hand, do not forget that Las Vegas was the Termini station to legends such as Elvis or Sinatra.

Cohen thrilled to four thousand people in a single action
The 'monk' Canadian left an indelible memory of its passage through Ourense and enthusiastic applause with every song

OURENSE - 09.13.2010
They spent nine minutes in the afternoon when the lights of the big track two sports Pazo Paco Paz and the musicians came on stage. Behind, Leonard Cohen, running at the speed of a great man of 75 years of age. There is then the apotheosis of applause from the nearly four thousand followers from all over Spain, do not want to miss the Canadian endearing voice hoarse, sometimes torn.

He began, like last year in Madrid with 'Dance Me to the End of Love' and so continued for nearly four hours, only interrupted by a break of twenty minutes), we must remember that its recent performance Lisbon spent three hours in duration.

With the end of every song there was a flood of long and warm applause, shouts of enthusiasm of a devoted audience with a memorable performance, also of the 'monk' busdista, nicknamed "The Quiet, with its timeless black suit and matching hat.

Three showgirls enriched his performance and even surprised when, in the middle of a song, two of them made a pirouette, gymnastics and went on singing, as usual.

COLLAPSE IN THE PAZO

The Pazo Paco Paz doors were opened two hours earlier, but even then there were long queues to get inside. It was a unique opportunity, historical, to enjoy an unforgettable singer, as it were.

And among the thousands of attendees, many politicians, as is natural in this type of events, beginning with the president of the Xunta, Núñez Feijoo, or the chairman of the Regional Government, José Luis Baltar, with his wife, Alicia Blanco, or Parliament vice president, Baltar Blanco, next to Feijóo. Nearby, the Regional Minister of Culture, Roberto Varela. Cidrás Ignacio Santos, manager of Xacobeo; Camilo Ocampo, sub-delegate of the Government, and Isabel Pérez, Councillor for Culture of Ourense, did not miss even one song. So to add tens of conocidadspero faces, especially in anonymous public, Cohen enthusiastic about a more natural than ever
