Juan
Hi Juan. This is a terrific video. Thanks.

Is this your video? It is "Unlisted", which means it can be viewed only by those who know the URL. However, it will never come up on a search of YouTube. If this is your video you may want to change it to "Public". I think this is a wonderful video and deserves to be seen widely. :D

I'm beginning to upload videos that I could take... Unfortunately, due to my mistake, not in HD quality, but I think they are interesting. Nine or ten in total. In the coming hours and days I will complete the collection ... (The security personnel stopped me from recording in various moments, so most of my material is for the encores). I suggest you get back to this message from time to time to find the latest news. Thank you very much for your "warm reception". :-)

I Tried To Leave You
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMv28Hr37M8
My (almost) 3 years old niece was near me when I had Juan Luis' vids playing for the 2nd time..
When I played 'I Tried to Leave You', she left her crayons and came to the computer:' what is this song? I want to listen to it too, on your laps'.
Sitting on my laps she was glued to the screen and the following dialogue took place:
Noam: what's his name?'
Sharon: His name is Leonard. Leonard Cohen.
Noam: Leonard? what does he play?
Sharon: a guitar.
Noam: i want to play the guitar too!! and what's his name?
Sharon: His name is Dino
Noam: Dino? what does he play?
Sharon: A saxophone
Noam: i want to to play a saxophone too!!!!
Sharon: getting where this is going and trying hard not to laugh...
It went on and on with each band member.
When the vid ended she said (or should I say demanded..): "It's beautiful. I want to hear it again. show it to me again."
needless to say i did...

I guess it's never too early to have the bug....

Juan Luis,
Thank you for the great videos. They will help to recreate for me a very enjoyable concert in Lisboa. I am particularly glad to get " Heart with no companion", long a favourite of mine, and Leonard's closing words. Gracias! :D

Did anybody else notice that the lyrics to "Feels so good" had been changed?
Meant to say long ago that you were right, Heike, "Feels so good" DID have different lyrics again, as proved by Juan Luis's video. The altered words fit in better, I think, as praising "freedom" more than "love". Leonard seems to vacillate between which of these to recommend - an understandable dilemma!!

Once again Leonard’s concert 10th September in Lisboa was sheer quality from him and all the members of his band.
The show started with a standing ovation from all 8000 of us. Leonard’s voice, ever pleasant, sounded even better than last year, effortlessly going through the range of the scale, but predominantly keeping the deep resonance and at times becoming an almost intimate whisper.
It was in fact an emotional experience as Leonard took us through a rainbow of feelings during his concert.
They all seemed very at home, the good atmosphere and playfulness between Leonard and the group was visible, adding to the charm of those three hours that so quickly went by.
As the show progressed Leonard got more and more energetic. Incredible! Delightful!
When Leonard sang So Long Marianne he was suddenly surprised by an extra choir as all the audience was singing with him. By that time many people had concentrated close to the stage.
We just did not want to let him go! And Leonard generously reciprocated.

Dear Leonard, we love you forever!
Hope your tour continues to be a great success.
Please come back soon.

Editing here - this video is apparently not from the 2010 show - and likely from the 2009 show.
And likely videotaped by someone other than MrMarbet68.

Uploaded by "MrMarbet68" - Thanks!!

"Hallelujah" - great performance - excellent video :D :D

Sorry, this video isn't the 2010 concert. I was in this concert. I have photos and Leonard Cohen did not dress the tie that appears in the video.

Hi Chema - Thanks for noticing - I just came back here to put a warning. MrMarbet68's videos apparently are not his own - some of them at least are Albert Noonan's that he has uploaded. Not sure whose video this is - but I had checked before I posted it here that Leonard does say "did not come to Lisboa to fool you" so it is at least from a Lisbon performance. I had also been trying to match up "clothes" since the venues were not noted at first. I guess it must be from last year!

EDITING - I'm back again. The video is in fact Albert Noonan's - from Leonard's performance in Lisboa in 1999.
Here is the direct link to Albert's video -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMedaI-P0Ng

And I noted this elsewhere - I was watching the two videos without sound to compare - and was noticing how remarkably graceful are Leonard's movements - and the beginning - and throughout. A beautiful video that captures a beautiful performance of "Hallelujah". Thanks Albert Noonan!!
