One more video uploaded successfully overnight. But by this morning, the laptop reinvented itself and all my Picasa3 files are gone. So I will have to wait until the business center opens in a few hours to upload a few more, hopefully.

LC was upstage next to Roscoe for most of the song. I suppose he wanted the ladies to have their spotlight. What a great guy.

It's the Swedish poet and novelist Göran Tunström, he died in 2000, they became friends on Hydra where Tunström lived in the early 60's.

Sorry it took so long to get around to this - I'm STILL recovering from that amazing trip to Sweden & Denmark!

I've been wanting to thank Eva for organizing the wonderful meetups with many extraordinary forum friends before & after the concert; it was truly a joy to spend those precious moments with all of you!!

Liam & Kath: I was sorry we didn't see you at the bar after the concert; as you probably already know, we went to a different bar because we found out that the one we had planned for was closing very soon; we asked the bartender to tell you & Arlene where we were; maybe he didn't find you, or maybe you had a detour of your own. I hope that someday, somewhere, we will have the opportunity to share more stories about LC, revolving stages, life experiences, etc. It was really an honor & a pleasure talking with both of you, & also with Marsha, Szylvia, Arlene, Marc, Hanna, & Eva - I had a great time with an extraordinary group of people!!

And what a beautiful, powerful concert!! Among other things, it was so moving to see Our Man playing his very unique "hand-flute" again!! Haven't seen him do that since Isle of Wight - what a sweet, wonderful treat!! (He also did that in Stockholm or Odense, don't remember which one, but I know I saw him do it twice - how precious!!) And ending with that gorgeous, tender performance of Hey That's No Way, while being able to "rush" the stage - WOW!! - that was the closest I'd ever been able to get, physically, to Our Beautiful Leonard - I could do nothing but sob at the end of that concert - I was totally blown to bits by the loving, vibrant energy of that whole night!! And Singer Must Die, & Feels So Good, & The Darkness, & Born In Chains, & "every little thing" Our Sweet Man did & does - it's extraordinary beyond words - I might be speechless for the rest of my life!!

Hi Rachael, Gothenberg was pretty great wasn't it? Leonard seems to have a special place in his heart for Sweden. I couldn't believe he did 32 songs!
I also loved the hand whistle, never saw him do it before plus also ending with HTNWTSGB! The meet ups before and after were also pretty special.
I enjoyed meeting everyone, it's so much fun to meet people who are Leonard Cohen fans from different countries! This is quite an extraordinary community
we are all a part of. Also special thanks to Eva for organizing everything.

Hope to see you and Bob before the end of the year!

Marsha

How good is this, just like a re-union! To log on and see all these recent posts from the wonderful people we met in Gothenburg. And even as I write I can see Arlene is also here on this thread, posting youtube links-hello Arlene, are you home yet?

Rachel, thanks for your (belated, but worth waiting for) post and good wishes, and you're right, we have so much more to catch up on. Marsha, you surely must be back at work? Thanks also for your posts here, Gothenburg was clearly very special for you (you did have the best seat in the place!) Arlene, I'm still looking forward to the snippets you have from 'backstage' you're clearly a scholar of LC, and not sure I thanked you properly for your updates on the 'Bird on a wire' thread. Szilvia, it was also a pleasure to meet you and to share your awe of the evening. I know Florence will be very special for you.

To Bob, Marc & Hannah, it's just a shame we did'nt have more time to talk and get to know each other. Eva, once again, thanks for all your work in organising a special night.

I'm sure we are all following the 'last concerts' news and who knows?
:D
Love to you all

@Liamberney
You are a clever devil knowing where everybody is. Yes, I arrived back home just yesterday (Sunday evening). At the moment I am spending time on uploading my videos while I adjust to the pesky jet lag (nine hour difference). I hope to pop in and out of several threads to do some written reports and extend my good wishes and thank you's after my videos from the concerts and from the Krakow Event are all uploaded. After that, I hope to sort out all the Fan photos to put together a Fan Slideshow. So much to do, but ah, I love it.

Until later,
---Arlene

Hey Marhsa, I am DETERMINED to see you before the end of the year!! Yes, it will happen!!

And Mr. Liam, do I detect a hint of a possibility that you may embark on a longer overseas trip before this year is over? I hope you do. . .

And thank you to Marsha, Liam & Szilvia for your very kind responses to my very belated post - it's so nice to hear your "voices" again; it's always weird being home after a trip like that - I miss you guys - other than being in the presence of The Master himself, there's nothing in the world like that feeling of connection with other lovers of Our Awesome Beloved Master Mr. Leonard Cohen!!
