What an amazing audio/video!!! Thanks SOOOO much messalina79! It truly captures the spontaneity of Saturday night and the crowd involvement in "Marianne"!! The other song that amazed me was "Famous Blue Raincoat"....never, never, have I heard an audience sing along to it!!! Usually it's reverential silence. That's why I LOVE the Irish!!! :D

Thanks Gwen for bringing this to the forefront! Fun memories of 2 weeks ago!!!

Miacomet,
Thanks for bringing this up, but I have to give credit where credit is due. Those glow sticks are Leslie's/mutti's idea. I brought them from the States because I had forgotten to bring my portion to the San Jose concert - mea culpa. She made the final decision on whether to use them or not (thankfully it was a positive) and orchestrated the end result :D

Kindest regards,
Mary

Give me a choice between LC.s music and Chinese medicine, I'd go for the music any day!

Sunday Miscellany on RTE Radio 15 August 2010 featured 'Land, Sea and Song with Leonard Cohen' by James Moran.

You can' Listen Back' to the full programme (which I think will include songs played between the readings) or listen to the podcast of the programme (which does not include songs). On the podcast, James Moran's piece starts just after the 12 minute mark.

Thanks for taping the Yeats recital, Irish Al:-) Also for your vid of Chelsea Hotel, which is the only other one I have watched so far but will watch more of your vids from Sligo. Priceless, and top quality - thanks! Glad the concerts went so well. I love it that LC loves Ireland and the Irish.

Many thanks for the videos, FanforLife and Messalina.. Having been to 10 concerts and having watched several versions on YouTube I can only conclude that Saturday night's So Long Marianne was the best ever followed closely by the rainy night in Kilmainham. Has anyone seen a better version?

Thank you so much for Bird on the Wire. Was one of my concert highlights and now to have the chance to relive it.

jdhayes, I agree there was something extra special about So Long Marianne on the Saturday night that I've never seen anywhwere else. I've watched Melissas video numerous times since and still get goosebumps when I watch it. Pure magic or in the words of Leonard SUBLIME!

A beautiful performance by Leonard and the UHTC - and beautiful enchancements by Bob Metzger and Dino Soldo.

Good point! Even my friend was cheering after this and she isn't the type to be cheering and clapping wildly! That is more my style ;-) I've checked youtube and there is definately nothing there as yet....

I have it but its really not worth posting. The sound is OK but I am all over the place with the video. Shots of the top of the canopy, the back of the guy in front's head, my shoes - just about everything except what is on the stage. I'd really rather not post it - it would annoy me to have it up there.

I wonder if Albert has it - that would be a far better option !

I'm not an expert but there should be a way of posting it with sound only and changing the imagery. Albert or Melissa, can either of ye help with our dilema???? :?
