Johnny puts it out

Johnny says: "We can't go outside (it's dark)...your white dress is like a lantern!"

They are escaping through a passageway and enter a mine...Joan has changed into blue jeans and a brilliant red shirt.

They exit the mine.

Joan's saloon has burned to the ground.

Johnny and Joan are running through the woods...it is daylight.

They come across Turkey's horse.

They are swimming across a little lake. They grin at one another.

Now they are underneath a waterfall and enter a cave.

They exit the cave.

Johnny and Joan reach the Dancing Kid's hideout. Bart Lonnigan (Ernest Bourgnine) is a member of the gang. He is mean. I just know he's going to be trouble.

(Joan is almost dry.)

The gang hears the sad news about Turkey.

Now Joan has changed into a very pretty yellow shirt with another red scarf around her neck.

Joan reveals to the Dancing Kid that Johnny Guitar is really Johnny Logan a famous gunslinger. The Kid tries to shake hands with Johnny. Johnny refuses and says that, "He never shakes hands with a left-handed draw."

Now the vigilantees are swarming the hideout with Emma in the lead!

 WHAT a MOVIE!!!!!!!

Gotta love all those strong colours, too! White, as welll [my favourite!] Joan always was a sharp dresser!

Dang! Still another line that reminds me of one of Leonard's songs, i.e. "A Singer Must Die" [again, that wonderful memory of Julie sauntering off stage in New York 8) !].

Boy, Ms. Emma ~ quite the jealous one, eh? YaY, chivalry!!!

Did you just happen to come across this while switching channels?

Inside the hideout the Kid is asking Joan how it felt to have a rope around your neck.

Joan is cooking eggs.

The Kid is making snide and insinuating remarks about the rescue.

There is almost a shootout between the Kid and Johnny.

Joan keeps right on cooking.

The eggs are fried.

Yes, Lizzytysh...I was channel surfing.

I'm watching it just for the outfit changes. And the Leonard Cohen lines.

Oh, dastardly Bart has just offed one of his own gang members. He's taking the stolen money and trying to escape.

Johnny shoots him. Bart rolls down the hill.

Joan grimaces. (at this moment she does not at all look like our dear Heather!)

The vigilantees are under the waterfall and riding hard!

Emma is coming up the hill...she's shooting at Joan.

Joan has a gun!

Everyone is shooting at everyone!!!

The chief of the vigilantees...annnounces that there will be no more shooting!

Emma looks around the corner of the hide out...faces Joan...everyone looks nervous...Will she...won't she...

She will!!!!

Emma shoots Joan!!!

Emma shoots The Dancing Kid!!!

Joan shoots Emma!!!! (Apparently Joan was only just grazed!)

Joan throws her gun on the ground. (A time honored western tradition...after you kill somebody you must throw your gun on the ground in a spasm of disgust.)

Johnny Guitar and Joan hobble off together while Peggy Lee sings "Whether you go...Whether you stay...I'll Love you Johnny Guitar."

Awesome!

The star of Johnny Guitar was a remarkable interview subject in his later years.
A fascinating character.

Great interview indeed! Thank you for posting it. I only knew him from his films, and am rather surprised. :-)
