In celebration of Leonard Cohen’s 75th birthday, I've put together a video pastiche of favorite scenes featuring the singer-songwriter/poet/icon. My incredibly unofficial, spectacularly imperfect offering is posted at http://1heckofaguy.com/2009/09/15/a-vid ... hen-at-75/

Damn, DrHGuy, you're too good! The birthday greeting video was a work of art.

I'm full of envy and jealousy because I'll never be able to top your contributions and tributes to LC. How am I ever going to grab LC's attention when you're creating these amazing videos. Maybe I'll figure out a way to insert my name in there subliminally and jump on your band wagon that way.
(On that one shot I kept thinking, "How many Leonard Cohen's does it take to change a lightbulb?" I'll think of an answer as soon as I reach enlightenment.
And that's not my answer.)

I hope your site never goes down or you don't drop off the face of the earth anytime soon. Your work there needs to be preserved in to eternity.

Damn.

Allan,

Phenomenal birthday video tribute!!!!! I didn't want it to end, kept waiting for more. Thanks for posting this link and putting a smile on my face - though not as charasmatic a smile as LC's.

Warmest regards,
Mary

WoW.

Totally unexpected in its presentation and execution, but fully expected in its quality… first class, pure class… totally befitting your subject.

Inspired and beautiful tribute to Leonard, Allan.

[I wrote the same thing there.]

Dr H Guy,

Kudos to you for that thoroughly pleasing video! Perfect choice of music too. 'They Can't Take That Away From Me' in this context says it all... plus, like Leonard, it's one of my all-time faves...

XO

I returned from what was supposed to have been my turning in for the night, when I realized that I forgot to include how lovely it was to see Leonard's skip those many years ago, and still the same after all these years. Recognize it anywhere 8) . Was that from "Bird On A Wire/I Am A Hotel"?

I don't recall ever seeing that photo of him in his bare feet 8) with that long, tall, Oriental painting[?].

Okay... now I'll call it a night. Well, after I post this there ;-) .

Thanks for the fabulous video homage. So loving and tender. It kept me smiling right from the beginning when he said, "schmaltz" all the way through to the lightbulb. Priceless.
