Open Mic - we need you!

Post by Andrew (Darby) »

Hey, you shy or modest Cohenite performers, we need you to sign up!!! ;-) It's only 4 weeks now to our Krakow Event!

Our Open Mic segment is looking fairly empty at this stage. I can assure you, if you have any talent at all, it will be a good experience for you to perform in front of the friendly appreciative non-judgemental audience of the Cohenite family. 8)

All you need to do is bring your guitar and/or voice or whatever other instrument. I'm confident our organisers could acquire a keyboard as well.

Remember it's songs and poetry. We might also have space for a Cohenite segment at the end where you can do your own material that's inspired in some way by Leonard's work.

Okay, I'll wait to hear from you. (darby203@bigpond.com)

Cheers,
Andrew :)

Then I will ring you all about with razorblades and broken crucifixes...

What songs you wanna play Henning?

Am thinking I might like to do the Stranger Song. Am I allowed to do more than one?

Maybe five, by the looks of it, Suemerlyn ;-) . It'll be great to hear you play and oh how I love the Stranger Song. Performance art with the description you've just given sounds intriguing, too :) . Henning playing as you encircle him with razorblades and crucifixes. Cutting edge.

Thanks, Lizzy!

I didn't mean to necessarily literally encircle Henning with those objects... Just getting in the (sometimes) Lenny mood.

Hi Suemerlyn,

Of course you can and I hope you are able to do even more than just The Stranger Song - three or four would be good! ;-)

Just confirm this with me either here or at darby203@bigpond.com

Cheers,
Andrew :)

Hi Andrew,

Oh, Great! I'd love to do three or four songs, so this is my confirmation.

I should be arriving in Krakow in the evening of August 4th, by car. Am staying at Hotel Eden.

Guitar will be with me!

I know that Andrew is concerned that not very many people have signed up for Open Mic. My sense is that not that large a proportion of our group is checking the forum very often. Maybe something should be posted on Facebook -- there's quite an active group of LC fans sending messages back and forth there.

Andy, Henning has challenged me to a Sumo Wrestling contest. Would that be an appropriate performance for the Open Mic or would it be wrong for him to be humiliated in public ?

Sue
