Having worked in the UK steel industry for 35 years I was very interested to learn in the video about the tour that takes in the old communist steelworks area . I will most likely be going on that .Does anyone know if steel is still produced there ?

Steel is still being produced there (3 million tons, 17,5 thousand workers), although right now the steelworks is owned by ArcelorMittal.
Some information can be found right here.

What are peoples' thoughts on hotel accommodations? I see that Phil has left a question about which hotel is closest -- and I understand that they are all within walking distance. But it's hard to get a sense on how they differ from one another.
