(16:9 bredformat)
Blir også sendt lørdag kl. 19.00 (NRK2).

På kjøkkenet med Leonard Cohen

NRK møtte Leonard Cohen hjemme i Montreal.

Reporter: Helle Vaagland

Anne's report:

I've just watched the recent interview with Leonard. It's made in Montreal in his kitchen. They started to talk about his new book and what longing meant, if he had been longing a lot etc. He said that when he completed a work he forgot all about it. "I'm blessed with very active amnesia". Then they were talking about getting older, about Mount Baldy and why he moved in there in 1993, his relationship with Roshi, how he liked the strict life etc. They moved on to "Hallelujah" and we saw/heard differnet artists singing this song (Leonard himself, the Norwegian group Lind, Holm, Fuentes, Nisen, Rufus W, Christel Alsos, Susanna & the magical orchestra and Jeff Buckley. He told the story of when he and Dylan met in Paris and "shop talked" about writing songs. How he had said he had used 2 years on Hallalujah (when it actually was four) and then he had asked Dylan how long time he had used on "I and I" and he had answered 15 minutes.

Then talked about working with U2, his loss of money and ended up with talking about his new record.

- When do you think it will be out?
- I don't know. Here is some of the lines:

"It's gonna be September now
for many years to come
Every heart adjusting
to that strict September drum
I see the ghost of culture with numbers on its wrist
Salute som new conclusions
that all of us have missed
So let's drink to when it's over
and let's drink to when we meet
I'll be standing on the corner
where it used to be a street.

That's one of the new songs."

Hi fellow fans.

I would be willing to pay for a copy of this interview. Does anyone have it?

After contacting NRK (producer) of this interview, I decided to reject their offer of buying a copy of this touching interview (as I found it to be).
I could get a copy for 62 euros, this amount is rather high, but if we're some guys it will ease the economic concerns.

I would be willing to generate english subs for those who are interested.

Any one put it on You Tube? Or does the station have a 'watch again' facility?
