Beware Ticketmaster re. Dublin tickets!

Post by Born With The Gift Of A G » Fri Jul 07, 2006 11:17 am

The seats they are offering at present on the internet and via telephone are all Block A Double Letters.
These are not the best seats!
The front Block A Single Letters seats have yet to appear.
Plus, they started selling seats last evening and NOT at 9.00am today as advertised.
Beware these shysters and tread carefully.
The better seats may yet emerge.
Be patient.
Don't panic!
Good luck!

Hi, I booked yesterday evening. Its normal for Ticketmaster to release before the declared date. When I booked I was told that the A block was full. It is probably being held by the promoters. There is a lot of interest today in the tickets and it is being heavily marketed on Irish national radio and newspapers so I would not be surprised if all tickets are gone by the weekend.

All I was saying was approach Ticketmaster with extreme caution.
The best seats don't always go on sale immediately and there have been cases when they miraculously appear later on e.g. a friend bought front block second row dead centre seats for Springsteen in Manchester last May on the morning of the concert!
I just don't trust them!

Lizzy,

I saw Bruce in Manchester, too and it was a fantastic performance.
Already booked to see him again in Dublin and Befast later this year.
Can't understand why his recent American shows failed to sell out.
Simply, a great show.
Now, if only I could get my hands on some decent tickets for the Cohen Tribute in Dublin...!

Oh, that's EXCELLENT, BornWith! I'd go see him again, too... I saw him the first weekend of Jazzfest in New Orleans ~ at the onset of his tour. Our politics are similar, so I loved and endorsed his comments. An INCREDIBLE show!!

I have NO idea why his shows didn't sell out... perhaps, the pricing?? I have no idea, truly. You get to see him TWICE Again?? Lucky, lucky you! After Jazzfest, his performances here were big-city only. Well, the euro taste in music oft seems 'superior' to the good ol' USA's...

Born In The U.S.A. ~ PLAY In Europe!! Same for Leonard.

Best of luck in securing tickets for Dublin, Anjani, and Gang [and Leonard  ].

Lizzy,
The performance of "How Can a Poor Man Stand Such Times And Live?" at New Orleans was awesome!
It can't be easy for you with Jeb Bush in charge of Florida!
We are still awaiting the announcement of some expected Bruce UK tour dates in November, so I may well attend a couple of those too.
The majority of the American music buying public seem to prefer Bruce with the E Street Band, which is fine and dandy, but this Seeger Sessions tour is a stormer and they don't know what they're missing, do they?
I won't rest until I get decent tickets for that Cohen Tribute concert in Dublin.....

Hi BornWith ~

I believe you nailed it... Bruce's fame and fortune was founded upon the E Street Band, or at least Bruce as a 'rocker' ~ people are really missing the boat in prejudging this. He's the same quintessential high-energy, powerful Bruce, but with a foot-stompin', mountain lovin' aspect to him with this... and Pete Seeger songs, to boot!

Yes ~ You're right, it WAS awesome ~ that song and every other!! So much that I thought, perhaps, the album had come about as a result of the 'woman' with the K name. He felt every word and so did the audience... even moreso, the New Orleaneans.

Prior to this concert, I always acknowledged that [with some exceptions of songs of his that I loved] Bruce is good at what he does... okay, great at what he does... but what he does just wasn't [for the most part] my taste. This album ~ takes his music to a whole new level, though, for what he brings to the genre. There are, no doubt, those who will say I was missing the boat back then... which, watching him at Jazzfest, I can say they're probably right. I DID see him once, when he FIRST hit the scene many MANY years ago... but it was such a blast of sound, I could hardly bear it, even then.

However, any true Bruce lover needs to check him out with this tour... or at least cd. The transition is effortless. He knows how to play his music and infuse it with a quantum level of energy and sincerity. I could watch him countless more times. "A stormer" is right  8) !!

Still... and then there's Leonard 8) and all that he's brought to the music. I sincerely hope you can rest easy very soon, knowing you'll be in Dublin.

Jeb Bush ~ Please don't get me started  .

~ Lizzy

P.S. When it comes to the Jazz, Blues, and Rock 'n' Roll, however, I've gotta gotta gotta defend the U.S.A. 8) . They're being a bit bull-headed about Bruce, though :( .
