Francis Mus interviewed Roscoe Beck, the Musical Director of Leonard's band since 1979, in Ghent last August.I really don’t think about what my contribution has been. I feel fortunate to be able to support the work of somebody I think is a great artist and the greatest writer that I have ever had the pleasure to be around. I am just happy to be here, and I am happy that I met him 33 years ago. It was a moment that changed the course of my life and I think the collaboration has hopefully been beneficial for both of us, but I love the man, I love his work and I’m just so happy to be involved to whatever degree.
Roscoe speaks about the tours from 1979 to 2012, about the albums and the songs, about the lyrics and the melodies, about the instruments and the musicians.
