Dear Mr. Cohen,

I'm so grateful for having got to know your poetry and your songs. I never saw you alive but have watched your interviews on YouTube and found many comforting
and graceful ideas in them. I have also your Books of Mercy and Longing and your album Various Positions and the cassette "I'm your man". I have loved you for decades. As you said in one of your interviews "the heart is always opening and closing, it's always softening and hardening" . That's the way I've been loving you and your songs and still am.

Now you're turning 76. I remember you with warmth and a sort of bittersweet longing and wish you all the best for years to come.
