Leonard On Sport On Wales

Postby kwills » Tue Nov 11, 2008 11:01 pm

On Thursday 6 Nov,as a background music to promote Joe Calzaghe's fight, and Wales v S.Africa rugby match, they played Leonard's Dance Me To The End Of Love.
I thought there was a thread for Leonard's music on T.V but I couldn't find it.

Leonard must be popular on Sport on Wales, one of his songs was used again last night, unfortunately it was the x factor version of Hallelujah.

Is that bus coming past my way :) I was in my local wilkinsons on Thursday when I found myself singing along to the background music it took me a little while to realise it was a jazz version of Dance me to the end of love, I think it was Madelaine peyroux ( excuse the spelling )

Wendy -

The same thing happened to me recently in a little coffee shop in Onancock, Virginia. Here's a link to YouTube with her cover of the song

Wendy,
Thank you for that. How interesting - I actually liked it. Maybe that's because it's my favorite LC song. If I'm not mistaken, Sharon Robinson, with her jazz inclinations would probably appreciate it also.
Kindest regards,
Mary

We had two skaters dancing to Hallelujah on Sunday night as well . Unfortunately when a seventy odd year old singer songwriter who is fast becoming a legend comes out of retirement and performs eighty odd sell out gigs there will always be the inevitable hangers on . But hey lets try and look on it all as complimentary to the great man !!
