Venue for Dublin pre-gigs meet-up

Post by damellon »

There seem to be equal numbers of Forum members coming to each gig, so rather than having one meet-up, I would suggest that on the day of your gig you gravitate towards The Brazen Head any time in the afternoon. http://www.brazenhead.com/

There are 2 other pubs in the vicinity, The Merchant, directly opposite, and the Quill, across the Liffey, so if we are barred from one, we have other options :D

Have a look at the map on the Brazen Head website. For out-of-towners, O’Connell Street is to the right, the Royal Hospital to the left.
It's a 20 minute walk from here to the the Royal Hospital.
There is a Luas station across the river behind the Four Courts and this can be used to go onwards to the gig, getting off at Heuston Station.

Look forward to seeing some of you there.

…… for June is short
And we must joy in it and dance and sing

That Saturday night in Dublin is like once upon a time in Bethlehem.
Let the call go out - 'DIGS FOR TIGGS' - if anyone can help.

the Brazen Head sounds very nice but it is a very small pub and I do not want to go to the gig completely intoxicated..... Are there any takers for the Market Bar in Fade St, just off Georges St. It is big, roomy, lots of nice seating, they sell great food fairly cheap and they even have a coffee bar too..... They give you water with your drink too. I just think it is in the centre of town, easy to find, very very nice and roomy. Just my tuppence worth! :D

Hi tinderella
I'm easy about where we meet.
The Brazen Head was chosen for proximity and ease of access to the gig. Wouldn't Fade Street be a bit of a traipse? or necessitate a taxi?
The number of people who responded to my request and said they'd be interested in meeting up was no more than a dozen or so on each evening.
If we get a scorcher like today (fingers crossed) they have an outdoor courtyard.

That's cool D.... I really do not mind wherever, it is just the Market Bar is big and nice seating and NO music, so a nice place to chat.... but wherever it is decided on the day is fine with me.... I am talking friday anyway as I have to work sat and go to gig after work.... Have a great weekend all and enjoy the sunshine :D 8)

Just settle on a place and I shall be there.
If it's early enough, I shall bring the Webb Sisters with me.

I vote for your Brazen Head, Damellon. A smaller venue means a slightly better chance of finding people, and especially the people with whom you need to exchange tickets  .

Not long now. Gasp.
