About this new Tour section

Post by jarkko »

I have opened this new section to make it easier to find concert reports. Our "old" tour section is pretty widespread with its 7000 messages today, and it deals mostly with the tour schedule, ticket information and so on. Please continue to post all similar information in the old section.

This new section is for information about the concerts! We hope to see here a lot of set lists, your concert reports & comments, photos, media coverage...

This section makes it possible for our members to follow the tour in almost real time -- I guess we will have at least some members at every concert! Share your feelings soon after the concert with the rest of us who will have to wait to see Leonard on stage (or who will not make it to any of the concerts). Set lists will also be very useful, so make sure you have pen&paper with you!

Also meetup invitations will appear here (I left the existing meetup threads in the old section). Let's have only confirmed & final meetup info here!

Messages that don't deal with the tour will be moved to other sections by the moderators.

Does every show on the tour need multi threads?

Post by zintman61 »

I hope I don't sound disrespctful,it's not my intention.
But there has only been two shows and this section is already starting to look bloated.
It's only going to get worse as the tour goes on.

At other forums I am a part of...when a band tours, each show gets one thread.
Reviews, set lists, comments, links to pictures and live footage etc. go in that one thread.
It makes it so much easier to navigate information about each show of the tour.

Just a well intended suggestion to consider.

I agree with you. Was just following suit with Fredericton demarcation. We should get Jarkko to make a ruling on this and consolidate as he sees fit.

Jarkko - one of the members has suggested it might be better not to have separate threads under each of the venue topics. Would you be kind enough to make a ruling on this, please? And if you agree, might you consolidate the topics by concert city?

It's indeed possible to merge all Fredericton threads into one - and then, as suggested, have one new thread for each city. Would like to get more opinions first on this. What do you think????

I also think it's a great idea, otherwise pretty sure soon there will be huge mess.

I agree. In fact, I struggled with where to post my newspaper review of the Frederiction show earlier today as there were a few possible spots.

I like the idea of one thread per city for discussion, but what about also having a thread that is reserved for press clippings-- reviews and pictures-- from ALL locations, so that it is kept neatly in one spot and easily accessible? You could also have a set list thread-- just for the set lists from each city (though I suppose there's a chance it might end up being the same list posted multiple times, depending on if LC decides to mix things up or not!)-- as a quick reference-- not for discussion of "Oh, but I wanted to hear such-and-such a song."

Yes, one thread per city please. It will keep everything nice and tidy and easy to find.
