Beware - worldticketshop.com say a lot of stuff that's plainly rubbish. They'd probably confirm tickets to an Elvis concert too. Let's hope we hear something reliable soon re. Athens as I badly want to see him there. I'm hoping Jarkko will inform us as soon as (and if) he gets any news.

I called worldticketshop.com and they say it IS confirmed and are selling (extortiaonate) tickets. I called ticket house in Greece and Ticket Pro in Greece and they have no news. If anyone hears anything please update asap so we can all have a try for tickets!

I am holding ouot for good news about the show. It would really be beautiful. It seems there are tickets for Oslo on the billetservice.no website, but it doesn't go through when I try my credit card, so maybe not, but really Athens would be the one. He certainly has a gap in the grueeling tour for the 29th of July so it is possible. Let's hope we hear something soon. If anyone hears when they go on sale (and if they do) is there some way of letting all on this forum know?

Yeap! I am searching the whole WWW for this! I will keep us informed! I just send an e-mail to a man that surely knows the things that will happen (as far as concerts are concerned) here in Greece and I am waiting for an answer. Just visit this site for any info http://www.avopolis.gr !

Great, as soon as anyone knows anything please update this thread. By the way where can I go to find the Leonard Cohen info on the Akropolis site? I can't find it - it's all Greek to me :D

You mean "Avopolis"? "Akropolis" is another thing, that monument that you call "The Parthenon" Here is the info that you look for http://www.avopolis.gr/live/dates_live. ... =0&pid=200

You click the link named "Περισσότερα" near this row "29 (Τρί) LEONARD COHEN Θέατρο Λυκαβηττού" ...

Mind you that it has not been updated yet...

Hi, my mistake! I am getting ahead of myself thinking about amphitheatres and parthenons...

Do you know if it will be possible to buy tickets from that site, or better to try tickethouse.gr or ticketnet.gr? I am already setting my game plan to try to bag tickets as soon as they are released!

Well I don't know which site of these two offer you the possibility to purchase your tickets online, but when I'll have more info I will tell you where to look for. Patience is a virtue and I lack in that one  Reliable or not, you can check out this site too! http://www.worldticketshop.com/cities/athens

My son pointed out that really, given the demand for tickets, the only sensible place for Leonard to play in Greece is Epidaurus (Epidavros): room for everybody, and magnificent acoustics! Now wouldn't that be an event to tell our grandchildren about?

Well, the theatre of Epidavros usually stages small scaled operas and greek ancient tragedies these days. However bear in mind that the tickets there are *HOT*, which means about 100 euros per seat  on the back. Roger Waters' opera called "Ca Ira" will be played there in the forthcoming future... Also, it is difficult to schedule a concert there because it is about 1,5 hour away from Athens.

However if you look for that ancient touch you can find the Herodes Atticus auditorium just below the Parthenon, in Athens! Yanni, Jethro Tull, Norah Jones, Elvis Costello all played there in the past...However there arent a lot of seats, and the available ones will be "HOTTER" than above

Oh yes, and this is the Lykabetus theatre (I know that the auditorium is faux ancient-ish):

Well, Greek mode off :D

I think the Lykabettus looks great! Maybe if you live over there that kind of amphitheatre is common but to me it looks special. It seems the Prague Castle gig has been confirmed, so I am just waiting to hear about Athens. My phone bill is going to be massive by the time this is all done! Oh is there anybody out there who knows what the best airport for the gig would be? Thessalonki? I may fly in if get a ticket, but I got tickets for the German show on the Franco-Swiss border and have a half baked notion of taking trains all way to Athens... if this is possible...?

:o

Hell no! Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece and is about 500 kilometres north of Athens. So the airport that you want is the International Airport of Athens aka "Eleutherios Venizelos Airport" located at Spata, Athens. Check this site http://www.airtickets.gr/
