A German family head out one Saturday to do some shopping.

While in the sports shop the son picks up an England football shirt and says to his sister, "I've decided to be an England supporter and I would like this for my birthday."

His big sister is outraged by this and promptly whacks him round the head and says, "Go talk to your mother." So off goes the little lad with the white and red football shirt in hand and finds his mother.

"Mum?"
"Yes son?"
"I've decided I'm going to be an England supporter and I would like this shirt for my birthday".

The mother is outraged at this, promptly whacks him around the head twice and says, "Go talk to your father."

Off he goes with the football shirt in hand and finds his father.
"Dad?"
"Yes son?"
"I've decided I'm going to be an England supporter and I would like this shirt for my birthday."

The father is outraged and promptly whacks his son around the head 4 times and says:

"No son of mine is ever going to be seen in THAT!"

About half an hour later they're all back in the car and heading towards home. The father turns to his son and says; "Son, I hope you've learned something today?" The son says, "Yes dad I have." "Good son, what is it?" The son replies,

"I've only been an England supporter for an hour and already I hate you Germans"

p.s. Henning..an uninspired boring win????
I guess so...but it was a little warm out there...we're not used to it.
anyway...a win is a win is a win :D

There seem to be a few games taking place in Frankfurt before the final in Berlin.

What may be of interest to Leonard fans is that Frankfurt is situated on the river Main and one of the areas is known locally as "Main-hatan" so everyone playing there will be hoping that "First we take Main-hatan, then we take Berlin"

I found this on the web - it's about China, Germans and English humour.

Father H....you need to come out with a Vol.2

BTW, I have a couple of South Korean colleagues who are completely nuts about the World Cup.

Australia surprised in yesterday's match against Japan with 3 goals in the last 6 minutes. Their first world cup win ever - their first world cup goals as well. A Tchech gala against USA (3-0) and expected wins by Italy and Holland. The show goes on - here is a map with the locations:

Nice map, Henning. I will be in Kaiserslatern, Frankfurt and maybe Munich next week. Maybe Leonard Cohen is a football fan amongst his other interests?

I work near the Korean Embassy here and last world cup there was a notice on the door to please pick up a special World Cup package. So I went and got one it was an English Flag and Korean Flag and a little metalic badge. Good PR and much appreciated by all.

What was it I heard on NPR about the Germans and Brits going at it, brawling in Berlin, after someone else had won a game!?!

Was it brawling in Berlin or scrapping in Stuttgart?
