Happy birthday faithfully. Keep the interesting snippets you post coming.
I am not sure how you come across so many diverse acts to inform us about.
39 eh I remember that age in the dim and distant past

I don't know whether a birthday, however nice an occasion it may be, qualifies as "poetry" as such - but still, happy birthday, faithfully!

I think by posting in this area Faithfully has subtly hinted what he would like for his birthday - poems.

Ninon De Lenclos, On Her Last Birthday
So let me have the rouge again,
And comb my hair the curly way.
The poor young men, the dear young men
They'll all be here by noon today.
And I shall wear the blue, I think-
They beg to touch its rippled lace;
Or do they love me best in pink,
So sweetly flattering the face?
And are you sure my eyes are bright,
And is it true my cheek is clear?
Young what's-his-name stayed half the night;
He vows to cut his throat, poor dear!
So bring my scarlet slippers, then,
And fetch the powder-puff to me.
The dear young men, the poor young men-
They think I'm only seventy!

Oh! If that is the idea, here you go:
Birthday (Dan Brown)
It’s my birthday soon.
20th of February.
I add another year to the
endless list of those already passed.
I add more anecdotes and experiences to the
overflowing collection I already have.
I add another pair of socks to the
poor drawer that detests the sight of them.
What’s more, I add myself to the
day that celebrates me.
For even if I don’t care for it all,
it’s polite to pretend that I do.

I wish for your birthday the stuff that poetry can bring
and also by Mr. MorleyAt the Mermaid Cafeteria
TRUTH is enough for prose:
Calmly it goes
To tell just what it knows.
For verse, skill will suffice--
Delicate, nice
Casting of verbal dice.
Poetry, men attain
By subtler pain
More flagrant in the brain--
An honesty unfeigned,
A heart unchained,
A madness well restrained.
Christopher Morley
And Life, that sets all things in rhyme,
may make you poet, too, in time--
But there were days, O tender elf,
When you were Poetry itself!
Everything being said to you is true; Imagine of what it is true.
