Bob Dylan releases his first original recording in eight years.
The song called 'Murder Most Foul' is just under 17 minutes long and is about the assassination of JFK, with many references to cultural figures, events and songs from the 60's and 70's.

Bob Dylan 'Murder Most Foul'
'Take the breath of a new dawn
And make it a part of you.
It will give you strength'
And make it a part of you.
It will give you strength'

For those of you without a Dylan trained ear, here's where you can find a transcript of the lyrics.

I can assure you I do have a Dylan trained ear, having been a fan-atic for 50+ years.
This particular offering, however, doesn't add anything noteworthy to his catalogue & is best forgotten. Seems like a Dylanesque take on American Pie.
Meh!

I love it ! Vive la difference.
The music, rhythm, cadence, voice - the whole package falls nicely on my ears, although I am admittedly biased. It is another of his long, rambling, stream of consciousness prose style epics that go on forever...
And reminded me a little bit of this Tom Russell classic

and also of this little classic

Re: Bob Dylan 'Murder Most Foul'
I'm not quite sure why I need your assurance as my post was not directed at anyone in particular, but was just for information purposes and for those who are not familiar with Dylan's shortening of words and gravelly drawl; and it's always nice to see the lyrics in black and white. Sorry if you presumed it was directed at you...Squidgy wrote

My favourite rambling epic has to be 'Red River Shore' (although not as long as his latest offering).Kush wrote
