Re: Johnny Cash: Forever Words
Marvellous videos, Kush! Both of them remind us of our own mortality. We are here for a brief moment in eternity and then we are gone; millionaires and paupers follow the same road. We play our part on the world's stage and then slip into oblivion. Fame and fortune cannot prevent the inexorable march of time. If we are lucky then we live a life we feel is worthwhile but then I look around at those who have been denied such an opportunity and wonder what it is all about. As Mr Cohen sang, 'I do what I have to do to get by.'
Having written the above words I have to say that I like to think that I am quite cheerful!

Hi Tony,
You are spot on with your thoughts. In the vast expanse of time (200000+ years of humans and the timescales become larger from there on) and space (the universe and beyond) who we are and what we do don't really matter. But we must still carry on as if we are living fulfilling and validating lives.
I think LC said something to that effect as well although I cannot recall the exact quote. This is a whole discussion that would be best carried out in a bar somewhere over a few beers .
But in the meantime here are some more old Johnny Cash videos, I seem to be having a JC moment.
