Eric Andersen at Green Note, Camden, 2nd September

Post by John Etherington »

At the Green Note Cafe gig we got an exclusive preview of Eric Andersen's new work on Lord Byron that he was due to present at Byron's ancestral home in Nottingham on 3rd September. This included Eric's own adaption of "We'll Go No More a Roving" which has a different, more up tempo, tune to Leonard's version. This new material was interspersed with some interesting anecdotes about Byron and his life. We were also treated to some of Eric's most famous songs - Close the Door Lightly When You Go, Violets of Dawn, Foghorn (from Memory of the Future), Blue River and Thirsty Boots. Eric was accompanied by Michele Gazich on violin and his new oud player, who played some solo passages.
