Post by Tchocolatl »

Tony Bennett, 87 and something : "She is one of the greatest jazz singer that I have ever heard."

This is a very nice album. I think a lot of people here might enjoy it. Lots of excellent vocals. Nice to hear Gaga (I don't really like her own music) using her voice in this way. Tony sounds 20 years younger than he actually is. Lots of fun.

I bought this at the same time I bought Popular Problems... but I haven't unwrapped it tomorrow. Probably tomorrow, to sweeten the chores. So far I've only listened to PP when I wasn't doing any thing else at all.

Lady Gaga seems to be enchanted by Tony Bennett not just because of his musicianship but also because he's a decent, unselfish human being. She seems not to have had very much experience with that sort.

I suspected that she would eventually do something like this. Here's Stefani Germanotta in her pre-Lady Gaga days (and very good she is, too)!

I saw this interview last week on the American T.V. show - Sunday Morning https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E88BMN96hJQ

It seems that two have a special friendship, it will be interesting to see what direction she decides to go next.

Thank you Tchocolati and Cate for the youtube video links. I have always enjoyed Tony Bennett but have never watched or listened to Lady Gaga, because her stage name sounded like she was an air-head. I am definitely impressed with her singing and enjoyed the Interview with Tony Bennett. I think I will buy their Album. :D

Cheshire gal & cie, Happy if I made some people happy!! :D

I like Lady Gaga's Bad Romance, a lot.

She is this huge international queen of the pop and humble in front of Anthony Dominick Benedetto to the point of looking shy sometimes.

This is great. I just feel very sad for the huge Amy Winhouse. When I think about it.

Thanks for the links, especially the interview, Cate. I was not aware of many of the details. It is a terrific album.
