Lou Reed dead

Post by tina »

I just read in the Rolling Stones those sad news.

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ ... 1-20131027

PS: I don't know if this is the right place to post it - but since Lou Reed did the introduction of Leonard's Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Induction, I thought it should be mentioned here on the forum.

I remember him in "came so far for beauty" in Dublin.
Did a stunning performance of "one of us cannot be wrong", all fuzzed up.
A descent "Stranger song" too. And Joan of Arc +++

He was one of the real ones. Wil be missed. RIP

I feel very saddened by this .
Totally unexpected , though i knew about the ill health and liver transplant
I've had some good times at his concerts, love most of his work and that legacy lives on :)
Thanks Lou

very sad news...so many memories of times in my life listening to Velvet Underground and Lou Reed... followed his music all these years.
I saw him in the crowd at Radio City Music Hall in April at Leonard's concert in NYC.
A sad day for Lou Reed and his family and for music.

So sad, the first album I bought and loved was I'm your man and the second New York.
My first gig was on 3 february 1992 lou's magic&loss tour and the second one on 15 may 1993 Cohen's the future tour.
Will be always beloved

Was shocked and sad to hear on the radio today about Lou's death. Never saw him perform, but saw his wife, Laurie Anderson, and they are/were both innovative and unique, very creative. My heart is with her and the rest of Lou's family. He was too young.

I will never forget the first time I heard Take a Walk on the Wild Side in 1972. I had never heard anything so honest, gritty and hauntingly beautiful as that song. "And the colored girls went Do Do Do Do, Do Do Do Do Do"
Lou Reed was one of a kind.

A singer who worked with the legendary rock star Lou Reed has described the experience as "joyous and delightful".

Casey Synge was part of the British backing vocal group Thunderthighs, which sang on his seminal hit, Walk on the Wild Side.

Reed, whose other hits included Perfect Day, has died at the age of 71
