"...a musical interpretation of the poems of Russian poet Anna Akhmatova..."

She's been one of my favorites for many decades. I read a biography of her many years ago and have a slim volume of her work, Poems of Akhmatova, on my shelf. It's one of those with Russian & English on facing pages, and I used it to practice me Russki back in the day. .
Never considered the possibility someone might set her words to music.
Thanks for that info, Diane. I might need to acquire a copy of that!

I remember that video from before and how quickly she set music to words!

Elvis and Waylon Jennings are the most evocative and dynamic singers to my untrained yet promiscuous ears ! I have a pretty good collection of Elvis songs from itunes and my favorite period is the 70s.
Kush, there’s nothing like the atmospheric crackle and pop of my old vinyl records from that time! I never got into Waylon Jennings but just for fun, here’s something else for your promiscuous ears :) Elvis and Leonard have an uncommon connection with the 16th century song Greensleeves and from then it would appear, so do I ;-)

Very nice B4 ! I had not heard Stay Away before. Indeed, recently I have been hearing New Skin for the Old Ceremony and Songs of Love and Hate again after a long time so Leaving Greensleeves has been on rotation.

Re' Waylon I have posted many of his songs but I don't believe I have posted these before - how can you not be evoked by

Kush,
I have to say that I laughed out loud at Waylon's (and yours in posting it) sense of humour with his song "Nobody Knows I'm Elvis" but forgive me, overall he just doesn't ring my bell
