Linda today posted the fantastic Bird on the Wire performance at the Knitting Factory -- 2004. Perla gave permission. Paul Ostermayer also does fine sax solo.

Hi Dick, what can I say, I just can't pass up on a Perla thread tho' they're usually fairly short-lived and you often end up chatting to yourself. So thanks to you & Linda for the great video. Debra Dobkin's still playing with her btw and, as you may already know, we won't be seeing Perla with Leonard. But she was recently in Edmonton - I wonder if Kim tackled her.
Nothing like seeing Perla live tho'. And I see we have some other Californians now here (welcome, I hope to meet some of you for May LA) so this is last call for seeing Perla at Theater 150 in Ojai on February 29. It's an interesting little theater that used to be a mortuary and probably only holds about 150 odd people, so a terrific place to see her and she'll bring the house down. Something very special happens when you see someone perform in their home town so this is pretty unique. And tics are only $20 http://www.tix.com/ScheduleTheater150.a ... Number=857
Yikes, I just realized that's a lively weekend for me as the next night I'm in San Francisco to see Mark Lanegan. But what's in a 5-hour drive for a voice like this and a gorgeous city like that? Soulsavers featuring ML - Kingdoms of Rain. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEcXz7b2Bk0.
Oh and Kush, while I'm here, thanks for that Devendra Banhart video link in the Dylan songs thread. It made my day! I'll send you some cashmere non-slip itch-free socks if you can slide another unexpected treat like that in somewhere. MC

Re: Perla You Tube - Bird on the Wire
Thank you very much to Linda and Dick
for this video, wonderful.
Another great moment of this concert of the Knitting Factory (Leonard Cohen Event - Next We Take Manhattan 2004) was the "Anthem" with Perla and Julie Christensen. Then we could see it in the film "I'm Your Man" (from Came So Far For Beauty - Sydney 2005). This performance thrills me specially.
In Perla Batalla's web we can see the dates of her tour http://www.perla.com and listen to her music and videos. Of course I would like to be in the Christine land to see these concerts. Perla left an unforgettable memory in Barcelona.

Long story, but we have been on dial up internet connection for past week or so, and don't expect to be back to broadband till late this week. Linda intends to add Anthem from the Knitting Factory as well as Julie's Singer Must Die. Will post the links when they are up.
Thanks for the words of appreciation!
