Oh, I don't know... I rather like the hat! It looks like a Christmas cracker hat with a pom-pom on top. Smashing!

well, at least i never wore a white curly wig to work, and never needed to be 'called to the bar' neither. i always went for a liquid lunch at the george inn on my own accord. i was never in lockdown, by the way. in norway we don't get caught up in such hysteria - and i haven't washed my hands for weeks. next time i see bishop bernt eidsvig i will tell him to buy a new wardrobe.

I just noticed this. Geoffrey has provided a copy of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). Not everybody agrees that these are "categories that define us" and are thus applicable to all people. The DSM itself defines mental disorders as “serious deviations from expected cognitive, social, and emotional development”. Just as not everybody suffers from a physical disorder that requires diagnosis (or treatment), not everybody has a mental disorder, either. In fact, many people (including a lot of mental health professionals) argue that the DSM goes too far, and that it should only be used as a diagnostic tool in clinical psychology for those people who actually suffer from moderate to severe mental disorders, and not for every single person in the world.

Here is a brief and clear discussion of some of the main problems with the DSM:

Re: The Future of our Hydra Meet-Ups

Dear Mr and Mrs Arjatsalo. I have just discovered this thread and read your announcement with delight. You both deserve a sweet rest as Jarkko reached his 80's and Eija closes in on her 40's. I am not being critical of the lovely couple but I am always puzzled by relationships with such an age difference. My previous partners would probably agree but I can't check their opinions as they are quite busy with their school lessons, (Side B, Track 4, Songs of Leonard Cohen).

The Hydra events are in the safe and pleasant Hans of our new team and they will take great Caren of this tradition.

Before I return to obscurity may I belatedly introduce myself. I was named at Birth as "John" and I have shortened that to "solongleonard". I have quietly attended a few Events and I think 2 Hydra meetings as well.

I am critically shy by nature and have never spoken publicly. I suffer from stage fright, and the stage also seems frightened of me. I have for many years, at the specific request of 200 female Cohen fans, practised sexual distancing, (and a gap of 2 metres creates a very hard problem to overcum).

Ladies and Ghent lemen, I am sorry you will miss this year's Event.

Maybe one day there will be a session at an LC Event where I could gather the courage to speak. Let us call it The Open Mike.

It really has been a great privilege for you to read my words.

You are welcome.

good to see my posts have inspired activity while i weave my way north. don't worry, the captain gave me the ship's wifi password so please know you are not abandoned - i am never far away. there are people waiting for me in the bar, but i`ll be thinking while i'm drinking and as soon as i get free time you can expect some wonderfully inspired follow-up comments to your messages. meanwhile, as it's almost two days since i posted a picture of me, here at last comes a new one - sorry for taking so long. you will notice i had a haircut before boarding :-)

I am sure that Geoffrey and his DSM could provide you with a thorough diagnosis of your psychological deviances, perhaps in time for you to seek treatment for your many mental disorders prior to the next LC Event. I've also heard that wearing a bright pink hat with a porn-porn on top can be a good way to boost one's self-esteem, and so you may wish to try that. Good luck!

Speaking of Geoffrey...

Oh, thank goodness, otherwise we'd all be suffering from severe cases of "Geoffrey Withdrawal Syndrome". That must be one of those "categories" in the DSM of which you spoke -- but then, wouldn't your actions amount to "enabling"? From what I've read, that is not a healthy way to deal with addicts. ;-)

Incidentally, you look very happy in that photo! Cheers!

I am not sure that I understand the question, and so, a clarification, please: Are you using the word "common" in the traditional legal sense, or in the ecological sense, or in the economic sense, or...?

Is the "tricky" part thus decoding the question, or providing an answer (or both, or neither)?

And, by "poser" do you mean "poseur"?

Your indecipherable post has left me feeling as glum as Leonard looks in the above sketch.

the Subject line here are Norwegian for "hello, Lisa". Gordon taught me that when we didn't meet a couples of summer ago.

I am sad you not understandings of my striking poseur questioning and yet not surprised as young child and education are no longer Life compations.

This post is sutall joke as my own humour does not follows this line, predictable and dulish.

Hello, Micha! Yes, I often find your jokes to be predicated with salted dill, rather like some potato chips ("crisps" in Old Blighty), crunchy and tasty!

By the way, you spelled my name wrong in Norwegian, it should be "wtrjkjhlmdgnd br". I am always correcting people about that...

i don't know what you guys are on but i don't want none. yesterday i got told off for going over the line to look closer at 'the scream' and everyone stared at me when the guard pulled me back. then i got lost on the underground, it's a real labyrinth down there, and a tall thin very pretty black lady accompanied me all the way back to jernbanetorget because i said i knew the way from there. when people from ålesund call me i tell them i am never coming back. won't hurt to make them sweat a bit, maybe they'll treat me nicer when i eventually do get back. lahcen is at work until 11 o'clock tonight so i haven't got anyone to talk to, that's why i'm writing this. he said on sunday he is free and he is going to take me somwhere special.

Gordon wrote “ he said on sunday he is free and he is going to take me somewhere special.”

What beautiful writing, Gordon! Whilst many enjoy the erotica of paying for pleasure you prefer intimate companionship on the one day your “ special friend” doesn’t charge. That way lies True Love.

Lisa, Kurt, the other person who posted once on your forum just a few years ago, plus myself of course, we all pray that later today you are in a “thumbs up” situation, that it is arousing and indeed pleasurable for you whether you “Donald Duck” or not.

Gordon wrote privately to me yesterday, in Norwegian of course. I think the dialogue was thusly
Gordon - If all goes well then would My Forum like some photographs of me and my Special Friend together on Sunday?
Solong - that seems a nice idea
Gordon - do you want the photos of the Happy Couple mounted?
Solong - just holding hands will be sufficient.

We all hope your Special Friend does indeed “take you Somewhere Special”. Enjoy every poetic moment of that trip, our Captain.
