Re the statuette: Scrooge McDuck was created in 1947 by Disney comic book artist Carl Barks (1901-2000). In the 1950s his Uncle Scrooge" adventure comics taught me about such things as Atlantis, Shangri-La, the Philosopher's Stone, Jason and the Golden Fleece, Pizzaro and the Incas, and the Klondike gold rush well before I ever learned about then from adult sources. I've heard that Barks and his work were/are very popular in Europe, especially Scandinavia.

hei curt. yes, barks' work has always been recognised in scandinavia as quality. i am not a great donald duck fan, but actually have the complete collection of donald duck comics in english on a hard disc in ålesund. a huge file downloaded some while ago from an illegal file-sharing site. if you want a copy, and if i can find it, i could send it to you via a free 'large file transfer' site. computers (or anything digital) is an interest of mine, especially hacking, getting around passwords - things like that. perhaps you even share my passion for such a sport? it is just a hobby similar to lockpicking, which is not difficult to do once one understands how they function.

So, copyright laws (and other laws) don't apply to you?

Truly unimpressed with your flagrant disregard of ethics.

my dear girl, it is all quite innocent. programmes like 'brute force' are freely available, and i never touch anything, just look around. no harm is done, the people don't even know i've been there, and eventually all the people we see around us are going to be dead anyway.

an atrocious picture while waiting for a tram, but according to the book i'm reading it doesn't matter :-)

I come down strongly on Lisa's side here. Even if one just "looks around" he is violating the privacy of his targets.

well ok then. i will have to accept that neither of you two like me, but michael does. tolerance and understanding for people who are different from the flock are not qualities we all possess, but that is what makes life interesting. imagine how boring it would be if eve had not been curious about the tree of knowledge.

The expressions on Leonard's face are divine, g.
If a Picasso Dylan comes along only 300 to 400 years, a Michelangelo Cohen comes along only in 1,000 years. Prolific and Perfect are very different.

comparing the work of one person against another can be tricky, because conclusions are subjective, many factors have to be taken into account - including one's circumstances and mood. in order to give a good impression, artists usually say positive things about their rivals in public, but privately, due to envy or frustration, their opinions could be less than nice.

apart from that, prolific and perfect are indeed different, elizabeth - but can also be combined. take me, for example: world record in different portraits of the same person, and the vast majority of them phenomenally good ;-)
