All this happened while I was away, so I was pretty much stunned when Margaret told me somewhere else about Andrew's passing.
There was a time when Andrew and I phoned almost daily, talking about poetry and music. Somehow life went on, and we just exchanged a couple of emails now and then.
And now it's too late to tell him how much I had loved our conversations.
However, it's never too late to light a candle for a friend.
