Vegetation

Post by Teratogen »

Vegetation

Cogitating
In my dark bedroom for some time,
I pulled the blinds
Away from the window
To reveal the still-life reflection
And I welcomed the bold effervescence.

Clouds of gray nestled in the bosom of the sky,
While the self-centered sunlight
Put two fingers up behind their heads
For all my mental photographs.
I can’t seem to tell
If the clouds
Will resent being manipulated in this style
And decide to withdraw, rankled,
Or if in a tantrum
Of provoked vulnerability
They will weep in public.

Either way,
The sunlight and the rain
Are both required
For the seeds I’ve planted
In the garden
To develop and flourish.

Some vegetation grows
Comfortably in murky topographies,
But most of the significant ones
Of aesthetic value
Are visible and obvious
To friends of an analogous nature.

I hope that soon I will
Have more seeds to scatter
For planting and
Harvesting.

Hi Jason, this is an excellent image.

I like the wonder in this piece despite of the gloom, also how passive and open the narrator seems to whatever may happen.

Thank you. It is very much a metaphor, too.
