Yes it is true that this is my humble suggestion for a jack made wallpaper, with a lot of help from Sue, but Violet, why oh why did you bring it in here?

Do you want to piss on it?

To see if it is pregnant with possibility?

and I can't give you a line by line analysis. It doesn't much matter what it means to me, you said that it was for your kitchen. You can have it mean whatever you want. If you don't like it then find something else that you do like. I think that it is nice and Sue is British.

... oh.. I thought that this thread was an ever expanding suite of rooms... why do you have to throw it all down the toilet, Jack, why???

.. anyway, I will now consider what to do with your lovely, humble little kitchen poem.. it may take some considering..

.. (and the enclosed porch??)...

Well I will have to wait to see how you treat my verse, because I would be arriving without having watched that movie.

THANKYOUSUETHANKYOUSUE
I will try to be wise my friend
make my verse clean and neat
so it can fit the metre,
so it doesn't miss the beat
to find a way to tell those folks
who live on Boogie Street
there might just be a place to go
when they can't take the heat.

.. well Jack.. this really isn't all that exciting, but I think it's nice.. it's for a breakfast nook, even though I don't have a nook, but in my imaginary kitchen on this thread I have a nook.. and it's a repeating pattern.. in William Morrisy greens.. and the title is a kind of border.. If you have any suggestions, or anything you'd like to add, just let me know.. It seems rather nice and cozy, I think.. and we can have the tea and crumpets you were talking about.. (was it crumpets?)... (actually, just what is a crumpet?)... (Cate?)...

looking forward to our tet a tet (is that how it's spelled?)... (Manna?..)...

.. oh.. tête-à-tête.. (I stole that from Manna's post below).. but how did you get all the little do-hickies, accents 'n such??...

what is a crumpet?
Manna of course.

(or - think of a pancake, think of an English muffin, now think of them making love - the result is a crumpet)

tête-à-tête, since you asked.

Awww, I am a crumpet?

You may like it, you may lump it,
after pancake-muffin bump it,
stand like elephants and trumpet
I am reborn as now crumpet!

Jack.. I see you cleaned up your signage there.. very nice.. (I have that effect on people)...

.. oh, and I loved the pikelets.. (I imagine pregnant women could skip the pickles then)...

Cate, you're... (something cute that rhymes with pikelets)...

Manna, you're a crumpet... (would you consider pimping me as your grammatical strumpet?)...
.. or (as you yourself pointed out) I guess we could all just lump it..

dear crumpet - I like your your rhymes and your beat, although I'm a little concerned about the elephant - I hope it's house trained.

Violet, I'm not sure about the colours you've chosen for your kitchen - although I do love this new nook and I have noticed the extra table waiting for us on the ceiling - good thinking it will be a perfect spot to share some slices of the moon.

My favourite lines of this entire thread. Whimsical... captivating... lovely.

.. and Lizzy there's a history to those wonderful lines (hi Cate)... Cate and I once ate pineapple upside down cake on the ceiling.. and I believe we were spinning.. but at least the cake wasn't upside down anymore given our upside down-ness..

.. (I don't know which thread that was, however..).. (so many thread times ago, it seems to me now..)... violet cries into her sweet little hanky..

The elephant in the room for me is that Violet copied the error in my verse.
"is tell those folks" should be "to tell those folks"

Violet I would consider it a great favor if you would make the change before placing it on your walls.

Don't cry dear flower, you know it makes me sad to see your petals drop.

... Cate, you're making me cry even more.. I'm spritzing myself to freshen my tear stained petals..

Jack, I've just corrected the error (check above), now that the poem is indeed on my walls.. (in imaginary thread land, that is).. do you like the colors, by the way? (you know I selected them just for you)...

Cate.. I will do another wall with this text especially for you in colors I think would please you... we must move onward and upward, after all (but not necessarily to the ceiling)...

Lizzy, is there a room and a text you would like to see added here??

Oh, and Jack.. you now have to come up with something for that enclosed porch... there's not a lot of wall surface, but enough to be entertaining methinks, as we relax in the coolness of the screened in porch (a respite from the relentless heat of this coming summer), while sipping our iced mint juleps...

.. bye all..

Hi Violet ~

Yes, I remember that thread and the blackberry tea with the pineapple upside-down cake, wasn't it? And your place for eating it, too; but it's purely a dream to think I might know in which thread it was. I was as charmed by it almost as much then as I am now, but the eating slices of the moon from the ceiling really put it over the top for me this time.

Oh... perhaps, a study... or though not a room, a bay window certainly can feel like one, with etched writing on the glass or carved into the wood; or another non-room that can feel like an outdoor one, I love balconies... perhaps, something Shakespearean like his sonnet, "Let me not to the marriage of true minds / admit impediments . . . " [my favourite; but then it really ought to be if it's in a 'room' added at my request, right?]... it would make a beautiful 'decoration,' or even an adaptation of it would, wouldn't you say? But, then, it might get too heavy and make the balcony fall off; perhaps, something a little lighter.

Thank heaven for spritzers 8) .
