Glimpse

I remember that afternoon,
early winter,
a low sun.
I was carrying timber
from the woodpile in the yard
and, in the lamplight within,
I glimpsed you poring over a book.
My heart skipped a beat
like it used to skip a beat
when we first met.
But then I remembered the rest of it.

Hi Virginia
Interesting set of poems here

Another moving vignette, Virginia.
I'm hoping there's a record, somewhere, of happier times.
