Re: Hop Farm concert moved to Wembley?

Gosh, Phil... you appear to have judged him, anyway... going on appearances only. Nothing is really known, yet... however, it was put forth elsewhere that the choice was either not having a concert at all [at Hop Farm] due to unsustainability for some reason... or moving it to Wembley. It seems tha...

Re: Hop Farm concert moved to Wembley?

Hi Pironi
Now I am not an economist but it seems to me that cancelling two sell out concerts and all the costs involved in refunding tickets etc would only add to loses . I am trying my best not to be a little bit cynical but I think it is not as simple as that!

Re: Hop Farm concert moved to Wembley?

Although I have not booked for hop farm it still saddens me to read all the critical comments on Facebook . Admitted we do not know the reason for the change but if it turns out to be purely for financial reasons I am afraid it will reflect very badly on Leonard . As I have posted elsewhere on the f...

Re: LC Walking Weekend (2009, 2011)

Leonard’s Wisdom Wisdom! What is wisdom It could be “love and hate Or maybe it’s in “Recent Songs” After a “Songs from a room “ debate It started back in sixty-seven When wisdom was unique With “Songs of Leonard Cohen On life and love so bleak And then again in seventy-four Having followed seventy t...

Re: LC Walking Weekend (2009, 2011)

Hi Diane
I have just sent you a pm . I would be grateful if you could resist the temptation to sunbath for just a moment to read it . Wales must be on a different planet to England because the only thing we are getting is rain, rain, rain

Diane this has confused me a little . The coal mine thread is still there just no longer possible due to everybody attending concerts etc .
Btw where does Kate Bush fit in to all this ?

Re: HOP FARM (UK), 8 SEPT ON GENERAL SALE

I would just like to wish everyone who is going to hop farm an enjoyable concert . As a self-centred ,spoilt and demanding fan I personally prefer to wait and hope that next year there will be an indoor UK venue that I can afford to attend

Re: HOP FARM (UK), 8 SEPT ON GENERAL SALE

[ Yet people are complaining about a THREE HOUR gig which can host 7,500 people! A lot of people would rather LC was plaing the royal albert hall instead....which has a capacity of 3,000! So to hell with the other 4,500 who would then miss out on seeing Leonard then right?] Dear despairing Songwrit...

Re: HOP FARM (UK), 8 SEPT ON GENERAL SALE

So agree, Lightasabreeze and Yorkshire Lad. The thought of a field, the potential traffic problems, the weather, queues for portaloos etc. etc. - and paying £95 for the privilege - maybe I'm just getting old, but it doesn't seem right. I could maybe understand if the tickets were cheaper (OK I know...

Re: HOP FARM (UK), 8 SEPT ON GENERAL SALE

Perhaps those who are feeling negative are some of us who cannot afford or circumstances prevent them, to follow Leonard around Europe. Therefore it would be less negative for them if they knew they could see Leonard in their own country, especially as he ignored us on the last tour. Don't you thin...

Re: Diamonds in the coalmine weekend...

You will all have seen the fantastic news of the impending world tour . I am acutely aware that the Dublin and Paris concerts will probably be a must for everyone so with this in mind I think it best if I shelve plans for this meet up . It goes without saying that I am bitterly disappointed but also...

Re: Diamonds in the coalmine weekend...

I would like to thank everyone who has replied to this thread and the positive reaction you have all given to my plans . I am still keen to try and get this meet up off the ground but with all the rumours of what Leonard will be doing to promote the new album in 2012 I think it best if I just hold f...
