Hi Bev,

Correct again with "The Guests" and the hint containing song "Suzanne." :)

Re: L.C. Song Hunt

Hi Bev, I think that there's some controversy as to which of the trinity speaks that statement. Not a controversy that I have any interest in entering into. That many hold that it is Jesus makes your answer correct, in my opinion. Hadn't anticipated your answer. The song I have in mind includes five...

Re: Ira Hayes Back In The News

Hi Kush, Thank you for posting the links to the two audio clips. Took notice of these words in the song: "Your religion was written on tablets of stone by the iron finger of an angry god." The words reminded me of the angry Moses, enraged at the behavior of the Israelites, breaking those s...

Re: L.C. Song Hunt

Hi,

Roman has it correct with "You Got Me Singing." Hartmut has very good finds with "A Thousand
Kisses Deep" and "That Don't Make It Junk," however, each of those songs isn't "quite the same
thing."

Re: L.C. Song Hunt

Hi Hartmut, "You Know Who I Am" sort of fits. It's "one of the first songs, in a way," as it's from Songs From A Room , released in 1969. It's "the last song, in another way," well, maybe... dependent on content interpretation. There's "heliocentrism" indicate...

Re: Nasadiya Sukta - Rig Veda

Hi Kush, Enjoyed the video. It makes for a great tie-in to the book you recommend. Will get ahold of a copy. Hopefully, I'll be able to read it within the next month. The topic is of interest to me. Read up about the book after seeing your post. Thanks for recommending it. Coincidentally, after read...

Re: Question About The Partisan Song

Hi Alishibaz, Welcome to the forum. Great question. To add to Hartmut's response, "garret" derives from an old French word "garite." That word, I've just read, includes "watchtower" among its meanings. There are multiple places in the Leonard Cohen song catalog where to...

Hi Bev,

Obvious to me as well. As did Hartmut, I'll refrain (for the same reason).

Re: L.C. Song Hunt

Hi Hartmut, I concede defeat on this Song Hunt question. Thought there could be a connection to Leonard Cohen's poet friend, mentor, and supporter Irving Layton. Why? Because Layton's poem "A Tall Man Executes A Jig" contains gnats, which are small flies. -- Considered "Go No More A-R...

Re: Nasadiya Sukta - Rig Veda

Hi Kush, You'll probably find Campbell's writings to be intriguing. You may also want to check out the PBS series The Power of Myth that debuted in 1988. Joseph Campbell is featured in it with host Bill Moyers. I haven't seen it since the year it was released, but recall having enjoyed it then. I'm ...

Re: L.C. Song Hunt

Hi,

For the record, the full title is "Hey, That's No Way to Wear Your Kilt." ;-)
Silliness, on my part, and not very clever or funny.

Congratulations, Hartmut, on the posts and thanks for the contributions to the forum.

Re: L.C. Song Hunt

Hi, Thanks to Hartmut for asking the question about the derivation of "Hermitage Prisoner" and to Roman for answering it. :) The songs Hartmut listed are, like "Tonight Will Be Fine," good guesses. Still, the sought after song remains elusive. There's a line in that song that imp...
