Wow! .......
The sound of your voice, with its emotional tones is clearly in the LC tradition! It is just remarkable!
Yes, a wonderful "message in a bottle"
Good luck in reaching LC.....I think you know it is very, very, very, very difficult

Re: Depressed to the Rest
No, Hydriot, these posts are not strange. ...indeed, I respect your feelings but if I read your post correctly, I cannot understand how LC can "liberate" you.....where is the lift?. Does his "companionship" make you feel better because he describes where you were? If that does it...

Re: Depressed to the Rest
I am sure all will agree that LC's words resonate to our personal issues.
LC's music is more like a visit to a old friend (sic) that undertands where I have been and that we are on the same path.

TORONTO SOLD OUT------THREE MINUTES AFTER PUBLIC SALE !!!!
THREE MINUTES!!!!! Unbelieveable!!! Having missed out on the Forum pre-sale, I assumed it would possible to buy two tickets at the public sale... The ticket computers went active at 11:01 and, like a whoosh, cleaned out the hall!! They probably include a few scalpers who now have pairs up on Ebay at ...

LC on front page of Boston Globe
[i][b]Never expected to see this article today on the front page of our very staid paper! Re: Someone gave me wishes, and I wished for... ?
I would like to ask Leonard what kept him afloat during the relentless depression he experienced over such a long, long time.
Also about the disconnect between his depression and his winning ways with beautiful women!

Re: Most Uplifting Song
Funny you should mention F. R. Scott aka Frank Scott. one of LC's buddies in the Montreal poetry scene, along with Layton and Dudek. Frank was my law professor at McGill Law School in 1967, a long, long time ago. You ask whether he was a democrat (small d)...... I can say without equivocation that h...

Would you like to be LC for a day ?
I was thinking about a fantasy......what if I could be LC for a day!!! My LC role would have the relentless depression, the attractive women, the neediness and the rejection, the playing out of an erotic life, the pain of 10,000 lonely nights, Mt. Baldy...all so different, all connected ... For me,...

Re: Listening Frequency
Tezzagamer I went to your site but couldn't figure out how to get LC songs to be run continuouslyy, instead of loading each one , one at a time, which is really difficult. Is that the way it is supposed to work? Frankly I just burn cds for the various places I happen to be. BTW I just listened to t...

Re: Listening Frequency
Nice to know I have company! My only critic is my 16 year old, (who is determined to be a rock star).....he says I am "killing" LC's songs by overplaying. He's particularly troubled because I play " Never Any Good" EVERY MORNING while I take him to school while he tries to hid b...

Listening Frequency
I wonder if I am just obsessive or whether there are a lot of members who spend two plus hours daily connected to the LC experience.
Myself, I am listening in my home, in my car, at work!!!
What about the rest of the group?

Re: Leonard Cohen: TOUR 2008
Since I've been reading about the history of Leonard's fans and their years of affection, I thought I would throw in mine......I first saw Leonard in 1961 doing a poetry reading at a small venue at Sir George Williams University, located in Montreal, I was at the neighboring McGill University at th...

Re: How much would you shell out to see Cohen Live?
The more I think about it, the more it seems less a question of what price for a concert than why a concert at all. I would think TV would be less troublesome, and besides, he wouldn't be mobbed like that Toronto book signing a few years back, where 3,000 people turned up! Leonard's hair is now com...

Re: How much would you shell out to see Cohen Live?
Good question. Its the interplay between desire and resources. I heard that front row seats to the Elton John concert at the Garden went for 3K. We should all be so lucky to afford these! Leonard would probably be fairly priced at a few hundred dollars, but the scalpers will surely drive that price...
