Re: Words LC pronounces better than anyone in the world
I love Leonard's soft th sound, softer than it is normally pronounced in Ireland anyway, as in "ladder of Thorn" in the Window, or "thin gypsy thief" in Famous Blue Raincoat.

Yes, Mwaldman , was listening to that last night, lovely rhythm in it. I'm on Joan of Arc at he moment, the version of it on Songs of Love and Hate in which Leonard speaks the first and last verse. Addictive !

Re: Raffi Hakopian
Caz , thank you so much for the 1979 clips. I only discovered the Window lately and listen to it over and over again, it is gorgeous, and the violin playing is superb. Sad to see from other posts that Raffi may be dead now. I prefer the violin solo on the recorded version, less showy and suits the s...

Re: The Window
Can't get enough of the WINDOW , it is so beautiful. Partly the words, partly the gorgeous violin. I still feel it is about someone dying, leaving this world.. sickness, ruin , New Jerusalem, etc. Especialy as Leonard 's mother had recently died whrn he wrote this. It always reminds me of the death ...

"The Window" is absolutely gorgeous. I only came across it recently and keep listening to it and thinking of words from it. I particularly love the phrase " tangle of matter and ghost", that's what every human being is, really !

Thanks, Mary B. No, not the "Real" Marianne, though as you say I did hear that some people met her at the concert. The Marianne I met was from Ireland.

Hope you liked Tipperary Seadove. I wonder did you visit the fine town of Clonmel? I'm sure you enjoyed the concert recently in the land of David.

Re: Barcelona Celebration 20 and 21-09-2009
As a new member I want to thank all those involved in organising the events in Barcelona. It was great to meet so many friendly people from many nations in the Sala Vivaldi. Since I didn't arrive until Monday I thought I had missed the Isle of Wight DVD and was delighted to get the chance to see it....

I was lucky enough to get to Barcelona last Monday and was delighted to be made so welcome in the Sala Vivaldi. I enjoyed the company of Mari...
