Smile of Light

Kindles Universe Light.jpg “That Light whose smile kindles the Universe” ~ from Adonais by Shelley I reckon those words above by Shelley on the death of his compatriot Keats are also applicable here today. They were the inspiration for my design. I didn’t want to post anything sad to remember Leona...

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's poetry and novels

Vickie, I did try to cure my fear of flying with the best motivation possible as you will read here ;-) https://www.leonardcohenforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=34170&start=30#p335114 ....And I’m still trying, so even though I spat the dummy recently because that horrendous episode was so fresh in my ...

Re: Gregory Alan Isakov

Diane, thanks for your kind words! You know, selfishly, it’s kinda comforting for me to post LC info :) And I am also dawdling on reading The Flame – I’m still yet to buy it. Besides, good things come those who wait ;-) Murray, nice to see you posting again! I didn’t know GAI was coming to Australia...

Re: Gregory Alan Isakov

Hi Diane, nice to catch up with you again! I received this below as an LC google alert a few days ago. To read the full article you have to answer some survey questions which I didn’t (and never) do. I found that sentence by Gregory below was interesting in itself alone. http://www.leavenworthtimes....

Re: Cohen: "You can't possibly know what song this is"?

Does this sound familiar to anyone? It sure does :) Welcome to the forum! Just ask and you shall receive! I meant to tell you this sooner but I got side-tracked. If you have the DVD Bird On A Wire Tour 1972 Tony Palmer 2010 version as I have it’s at 45:55 mins. If you don’t yet have the DVD the sam...

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's poetry and novels

Vickie, it doesn’t matter about taking your time to respond – in fact, most people just read what others write and don’t feel the need to comment and I do that too at times! Speaking of travelling, I have recently clocked up about 1,400 km in one day “due to have-to-do things in the real world”. An ...

Re: Australian TV

I thought I’d add that Leonard was mentioned on Australian TV a couple of nights ago in a show called Spicks And Specks. The contestants were asked to match up singers with the TV shows they also appeared in. For Leonard it was his role in Miami Vice and they couldn’t guess it, ha!

Re: Gregory Alan Isakov

I’ve just now watched and listened to this new song recently played live by GAI and was attracted to it straight away. The words have a wonderful visual expressive emotional texture and I feel they do have an LC ring to them. Of course, :) the violin here enhances the atmosphere of the song and the ...

ah Vickie, it’s always my pleasure to be of some help! I nearly made a comment about #22 but didn't .... I had a feeling you would :) Speaking about songs and poems, I don’t think I’ve posted these before (Dave and others might like to read them too) so here are a couple of interesting excerpts abou...

Hi Vickie, Good to see things are settling down somewhat for you in your new place of abode. It looks like I have a different TEOS edition – it might be dog-eared but no dog tooth marks which I think I can see on yours ;-) My copy is the second one on the list here at the LC Files: https://www.leona...

Re: Remembering Leonard on his Birthday

But I know in my heart there will be more music to come from Leonard and that will be an outstanding additional bonus to look forward to. The singer may be gone, but his song lives on .... There is definitely more to come. I think we just need to be patient, now where did I hear that before. On Leo...

I too will add a thank you to Jarkko for posting this. Also many thanks to Adam for his words dedicated to his father and his father's utmost efforts to complete this last offering for all of us. As I was reading, these words came instantly to my mind: “and my father's hand was trembling with the be...
