Re: Five Concerts in Halifax (May 12 to 17)

I wouldn't worry too much about bootleggers these days,it's mostly just the fans who bother to film/tape anymore...with the intent of sharing. Yes, but there are still arguments against fan taping and not-for-profit sharing. The first of these is that if a fan makes a live recording available for f...

Re: Five Concerts in Halifax (May 12 to 17)

You do realise ladies & gentlemen that what you are promoting here is illegal, in total breach of copyright and robbing our hero of potential income. I don't know about other download sites but this is certainly not true for Dimeadozen, which makes great efforts to stay on the right side of cop...

Re: Five Concerts in Halifax (May 12 to 17)

The best and most reliable source for live recordings these days is Dimeadozen. There's nothing up there yet, but I'll keep an eye on it and post a message as soon as something appears.

Re: Fredericton Set List

As someone who saw LC very early, it was apparent that many of the original songs were too quiet to be effective in a concert setting. It wasn't until he sang, "Tonight Will Be Fine" with Charlie Daniels playing fiddle that the concert really appealed to the sensibilities of the audience....

Re: Rehearsal photos

i don't know if many people remember the audience reactions to tower of song on the '88 tour, but they were more than a tad luke warm, especially from some of the grey-haired fans. by the '93 tour things had changed though, and tower of song went down a storm and always got a few whoops and whistle...

Re: Rehearsal photos

Let's hope he doesn't spend too much time behind that keyboard. In 1988 and 1993 'Tower of Song' was the only song performed on keyboards, the rest were all on guitar. I suspect that advancing age makes playing the guitar more difficult - this has certainly happened to Dylan, who plays keyboards mor...

Heart With No Companion is not on Live Songs. Presumably you mean Cohen Live. The studio version is on Various Positions.

Looks like the organisers have finally announced that Prague is not going to happen. I don't speak Czech and I can't find a working online translator, but the news on this webpage doesn't look good: http://www.1015.cz/index.php?l=cz&od=0&page=&page_sub=&n_id=228 Translation, anyone? ...

Re: Guardian/Manchester Thursday gig...

So this is not really an "exclusive live appearance for Guardian readers" at all. This is just another scramble for tickets. If the Guardian had really wanted to make it exclusive, they could have made tickets only available to personal callers at the box office with a copy of the paper. O...
