Re: Sadness in Berlin!

Just book it. If it doesn't happen, you'll get your money back.

Re: Managment photo restrictions

This seems like a total overreaction on the part of the Norwegian press. By refusing to sign this perfectly standard legal document, they have deprived their readers of concert reports (which don't have to be accompanied by photos, of course).

Re: MONTREAL (JUNE 23-25)

Thanks for that. So, Jennifer Warnes wasn't there - an error in the Arte announcement. Once again, the woman who kept the Cohen flame alight for many years, and paved the way for his return in the late 80s with Famous Blue Raincoat, is sidelined.

Re: MONTREAL (JUNE 23-25)

Sorry, my mistake. Although the Arte website does say "En bonus, les meilleurs moments du concert donné la veille par Leonard Cohen himself", so I guess there will be a few tiny morsels thrown to us. There doesn't seem to have been much discussion on here about the tribute concert. Did any...

Re: MONTREAL (JUNE 23-25)

As has already been noted elsewhere, one of the Montreal concerts is to be broadcast on the Arte channel on July 14. And no doubt will be shared and downloaded among this community soon after. Which kind of makes a mockery of the apparent wish to make the forthcoming DVD the only live footage availa...

Re: Prague Castle

It ain't gonna happen. This was one of the August shows that was announced by various unofficial sources, but never by Leonard's management. It was only ever a tentative date and it was never confirmed.

Re: Moncton, NB (May 23)

I'm not clear whether discussion of Dimeadozen is permitted here or not; I see an earlier post on the subject was removed. So mods, delete away if you must. All I want to say is, if you want to hear how the tour is sounding, get yourself a Dime account and download this show. It's a revelation.

Re: FAMOUS BLUE RAINCOAT

1. Cohen doesn't read this forum. As you may have noticed, he's rather busy at the moment. 2. Even if he does, his choice of songs is not going to be swayed by five people making the same request, or (as in this case) by one person making the same request under five different user names. Nor should ...

Re: Leonard Cohen: TOUR 2008

There was nothing intolerant about my post. It was worded politely and tactfully. And IMHO (I'm sure the moderators would back me up) there is nothing wrong with gently pointing out to newbies how this forum is supposed to work. This is a self-regulating community and it is not too much to expect pe...

Re: US Tour dates?

If you think it might have been addressed before, the sensible thing to do is to read/search the old threads rather than asking a question that has been asked and answered many times before (and in the wrong section of the forum, to boot). The answer, since I'm here, is "we don't know".

Re: FAMOUS BLUE RAINCOAT

Don't hold your breath. He played it only once in 1988 and not at all in 1993. He has said he was never satisfied with the song.

Welcome to the forum Felicia. May I tactfully suggest you read or search the existing threads before posting a question like this, which has been asked and answered many times already.

Really? I have never heard Stipe say anything to that effect. Sure, REM covered "First We Take Manhattan" on I'm Your Fan, but apart from that there is nothing to suggest that the influence you suggest actually exists.

Re: Special Guests

I am still hoping (but only half-expecting) that Dylan might join Cohen onstage at one of the next few concerts. That would be a truly epochal moment. Let's look at their respective schedules: Dylan 20/5 - Moncton 21/5 - Halifax 23/5 - St Johns 24/5 - St Johns Cohen 20/5 - Glace Bay 21/5 - Glace Bay...
