Re: Leonard and Philip Glass at The Barbican

Unlike most people on this forum, I suspect, I am as big a fan of Philip Glass as I am of Leonard Cohen. And I bought tickets for the whole Glass weekend at the Barbican as soon as they went on sale, long before Cohen's presence was announced. How many people, I wonder, were at the Barbican last Sat...

Re: LC in person at the Barbican on 20 October

Paula already has a ticket for Book of Longing, next to Pete and I. She was referring to buying a lottery ticket since she's having such a run of good luck ! Ah I see, in that case apologies. I just feel it would be strange if someone bought a ticket for this event now that we know Cohen would be t...

So let me get this straight - you wouldn't have bought a ticket for Book of Longing, but you're going to now because Leonard will be there?

Re: Anjani's Summer 2007 Tour Schedule

Who says that? I thought it was Anjani's tour and not his. Well, to begin with, it now appears that the tour is called "Leonard Cohen presents Anjani" (see above). And secondly, it's likely that this tour will follow the pattern set by Anjani's previous European gigs earlier this year, i....

Whatever it's "supposed" to be, the fact of the matter is that Leonard will be at some of the shows, including in all probability London.

The gallery is being somewhat disingenuous when it states "Only when some of his drawings appeared in his collection of prose and poetry, Book of Longing, published in 2006, did his worldwide fan base get a glimpse of this side of his creativity." I recall that some original artworks were ...

I did not say anything about the exhibition. It is Leonard's own project! In other words, damellon is correct. The Richard Goodall gallery website specifically mentions "artist receptions" (admittedly, it doesn't specify whether these relate to the Canadian or European openings). But it i...

Hardly I guess. The album is waiting to be finished, and as LC said to Anjani (and she quoted him in San Francisco last week, answering why he isn't there), "Someone has to work". I wouldn't be too surprised to see him in London at least. The Pigalle is a very small venue, often use...

Jennifer Warnes and 'Came So Far For Beauty'

Hello all, first-time poster here but a fan of Cohen's since the mid-80s...

Does anyone know why Jennifer Warnes was not involved in the Hal Willner 'Came So Far For Beauty' tribute shows? She would have been an obvious choice.

Al also did a cover version of One Of Us Cannot Be Wrong when I saw him live in 1988 or so. Great show. I was wearing an I'm Your Man t-shirt which Al admired when I met him backstage after the show!
