Re: Happy Birthday Jarkko

Another wonderful year to you Jarkko. We all have so much to thank you for and I remain one of the grateful Forum members. I so frequently refer other Cohen fans to this website and there is no other website on my favourite list (other than my husband's my work and my bank). I check my e-mail, my fa...

Re: close-up photo of leonard

Have to agree--that is one great photo of Leonard. They say the eyes are the window to the soul and this photo that shows his eyes so clearly is really a marvel--have tried to find another such and his eyes do look brown in almost all the photos. Reminds me a bit of ol blue eyes.

Re: Ten years, 271520 posts and MANY THANKS to JARKKO

Any opportunity to thank Jarkko and for the work he and his family have done to make all this happen should not be missed. I personally, as so many others have benefitted hugely from your efforts in so many ways--too many to count. Finding this forum of so many like-minded Leonard Cohen fans, has st...

Re: Old Ideas in the 2012 Polaris Long List

Rose Cousins just became a new favourite of mine thanks to discovering her on this site. Now I can wait to see if she can actually compete with LC...And the list is great--all the great Canadian groups for me to investigate. I am abysmally ignorant of Canadian music with Feist and Rose Cousins the o...

Re: Emily Bindiger Q&A Posted

Dear Dr. Thanks for sharing this very interesting interview. Emily's take on LC's humour makes perfect sense to me. My first response to Bird on a Wire was wild laughter. Of course I was 19 at the time and my first response to a lot of things was wild laughter, but Leonard has never ceased making me...

Re: Coleman Barks/Rumi TV prog.

Imagine my surprise to visit Athens Ga. --the deep south--and find so many books on Sufism in the library. I didn't know that Coleman Barks lived there--didn't know who he was but discovered him about 12 years ago. I also came across a movie Rumi-Turning Ecstatic featuring Coleman Barks among other ...

Re: Tom Jones v Leonard

Thanks Doug--could not believe it when the host said he had never heard of this song--I thought by now that was an impossibility. I guess I am biased though. Listening to Leonard singing it just now. Yeah still prefer Leonard's version---also enjoyed hearing the host exclaim on how extraordinary the...

Re: A Thread of Thanks

I would love to add my thanks to all who made these presales possible. I was fortunate enough to see Leonard in Lisbon and Calgary. Now I look forward to another concert in Edmonton in November in the company of my husband, our son and his fiancee--another generation of Cohen fans. This latest ticke...

Adam's interview on Q

http://www.cbc.ca/q/blog/2012/05/15/adam-cohen-on-leonard-cohen/ This is posted elsewhere I know but thought it deserved it's own space here as well. A very interesting interview with Adam's views about his Dad's place in music/art. I do agree when he says that Leonard is still relevant--but I wante...
